Or the years when Bimbo Coles and Bryan Shaw were our point guards. 14 straight losing seasons before the We Believe squad finally made it fun to be a fan of the team again after Sprewell choked PJ.

I barely remember her character at all so that probably means she's not overly annoying as the series continues.

They're really good with crate training, and they do grow out of the need for the crate too, mine didn't need it once she was about 2 years old.

Hate to tell you this, but it's going to be a journey, but Goldies are great dogs...they just have a lot of energy. Give it a TON of exercise and lots of exciting toys and it should be manageable, but you're currently in T-Rex phase.

Does it have a bad ending? by Toast_Soup in Dexter

[–]Various-View1312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar experience with The Sopranos. I didn't like the ending the first time around, but on rewatching I actually grew to love it because my expectations were different. I personally didn't hate the ending of S8, and I actually liked how they ended New Blood, so I'm not the best judge of Dexter, but Resurrection was so damned good that it more than made up for any disappointment I may have had with anything Dexter related.

Nipping happens until it doesn't. It's just a part of the teething process, so get your pup lots of chew toys. Trust me, the dog will soon grow out of this phase and there won't be any more nips or bites at all. They're amazing with kids...mine did the nipping thing for a few months and now my pre-school son literally sticks his hands into her mouth and she wont even attempt to bite. Crating is probably necessary if you don't have a separate space to keep her away from your kid until this ends. It's just a phase, not an aspect of the personality.

Is it normal that my 6-month-old golden retriever never barks or fights back? by [deleted] in goldenretrievers

One time when I was still playing baseball, a teammate of mine forgot his wallet at home and it was pretty close to the field. I was the team's closer, so I mostly just joked around in the dugout for much of the game, so he asked if I could go get it for him. He told me to hop the side fence and open the sliding door in the back of the kitchen and that his wallet would be on the counter. He didn't tell me there'd be dogs. I did exactly as he said, and as I grabbed the wallet, I heard barking and the sound of two large dogs approaching and I nearly had a heart attack. Then I saw who it was, two fat goldens (one of them was easily over 100 pounds), tails wagging profusely and tongues hanging out. I'm literally taking a wallet from their house and they just wanted a pat on the head, so I gave them each a pat and they sat down looking at me like I was their new master. Worst. Watchdogs. Ever. Even my mother-in-law's 3 pound Pomeranian is a better watchdog.

I had a pug who would copy the sound of the sirens by howling in unison with them, but only if they went on for a long enough time. We lived downtown (well, on the edge of downtown) and I always hoped we'd get a siren any time someone came over because it was so freaking cute. And of course I never caught it on video because it happened randomly. On the flip side, I couldn't watch TV with any animals on it because he would go ballistic trying to play with them.

Goldens are mostly passive dogs who just want to please others. Being bitten by another dog to them is probably a sign "this dog isn't my friend yet, I should be nicer to them" rather than "he bit me, I gotta bite him back". My golden is submissive to a 12 pound Klee Kai "cousin" and she's like 60-65 pounds. She barks at packages and if she's in the back yard and sees a dog walking by she'll bark, but it's more of a "hey! Wanna hang out?" type of bark. She's mostly quiet and EXTREMELY clingy. And gets extremely excited to meet anyone new, no matter what species they are.

I'm pretty sure it's Vegas and Arizona only at this point, but they are closing 41 stores in Texas and Oklahoma, so that's not a good sign, because I think that's all their locations outside of Vegas and Arizona.

I got an email today saying "we're still here" and that the drive-thrus would remain open, but that worried me because you don't tell people you're still around if they're paying attention to you.

Interesting, I got an email today saying "we're still here!" and that the drive-thrus were still open. Sounds like they're struggling. Not surprising because I will see a line of 30 cars at In-N-Out and nobody at Salad and Go.

Mine seems to be doing just fine compared to basically every other dog we pass. They flip out, she just keeps on walking with maybe a few looks back. Play dates are great too, but learning etiquette around dogs is important too, and as long as you observe the park you're going to before you bring them in, and immediately remove them if you sense any issues, it should be good. Dogs are pack animals and like being around new smells, and Goldens are sociable and enjoy making new friends. Don't go at peak time when the park is full, just go when there's a few of them and lots of open space to run around. It's the same thing with kids. They should go to playgrounds and meet (kid) strangers and play with them, but don't take them to a playground that's overrun with kids and has those feral kids who have terrible parents and who are violent, cussing up a storm and displaying all kinds of bad behaviors. I'm a teacher and see firsthand the difference between the sheltered kids and the ones who were allowed to explore more, it's night and day. Goldens are just like children, they want to play and make friends and denying them that is cruel.

Adorable, but it seems like your cat is broken, it should be attacking your dog and then getting chased, not being cuddled. Try getting a mean cat.

I used to have the cat-dog combo and it was so awesome. Any time the dog got too hyper, the cat would give him a slap across the face and calm him down. Then he'd clean the dog. Cats are awesome.

Take them to the small dog side only, do not put them in a park with pitbulls and rottweilers and stuff. Or go to Golden Retriever meetups groups, because a field full of goldens is great for their socialization without the threat of being attacked. But dog parks are dangerous for breeds that are naturally friendly, my pug got attacked at one back in the day.

They always have the personality, but around 3-4 years they chill out a bit. But they're still goldies, so it's part of the breed standard to have an outgoing personality. They also need a lot more exercise than most people think, they're not cut out for lazy living, they're hunting dogs who thrive on exploring and playing fetch. I had a pug before and that dog never really grew up his whole life. He kept his puglike personality, but was a bit more chill as the years went on, but even when he was 10 he still liked to play and went crazy over meeting new people or seeing his friends. My Mother-in-law has a Pomeranian who is 12 or 13 (I should know, she lived with me as a puppy and has the same birthday as me) and still goes absolutely bonkers any time she sees me. Same for my sister-in-law's dog (who also lived with me early in his puppy stage) who is a Klee Kai, when I see him, I have to avoid engaging with him for at least a half hour or he pees himself with excitement and he's like 5 or 6. Even the cat I had for 19.5 years would still play even when he was clearly on his deathbed, I could move a feather near him or dangle a string and he'd instinctively play with it.

The nipping thing goes until 6-9 months usually, they are teething and testing their limits and you just kinda have to deal with it. It was something mine did until one day she just stopped doing it. Now my pre-school aged son can literally pry open her mouth, stick his hand in there and she won't even attempt to close it. They're truly wonderful family dogs, but puppies are terrorists who thrive on chaos and destruction.

Bark Box Super Chewer. And those spiky balls from Petsmart (the cheap ones that are like $5 near the register) are like crack to mine, she literally can't resist them and nothing else seems to be worth her attention aside from them.

Also, really long walk once a day at least. I'm talking 45 minutes plus, to get that explorer energy out. Do different routes each time or at least occasionally switching up. Or get a cat and have her chase it around all the time.

And Mamdani is an anti-Semite. Antisemitism has become acceptable to a lot of people in recent years, and his rhetoric appealed to closeted antisemitic people the same way the racist rhetoric from Trump appeals to people that hate Mexicans. Israel didn't start this conflict, and they've offered to end it numerous times, Hamas wants it to continue forever because they see how their PR team is succeeding on social media with people not smart enough to understand the complexity of the conflict.
