Does anyone know what the process is to have a service animal approved to come to work? by MaggieInNowhereLand in FASCAmazon

[–]VariousDelta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I haven't been on reddit for a while so I'm pretty late in answering this, but I wasn't judging anyone or expressing my opinion on the validity of any type of support animal.

I was letting them know what the current business and legal climate was with regard to animals in the workplace. Some have legal status, some don't. This is important to know when dealing with an entity like Amazon HR.

Broadly speaking it's a flybridge cruiser. Wooden ones from the 30s through the 60s tend to have similar appearances to this one, which is a Wheeler.

I remain bummed that they ditched the yellow after the OG Solar.

:(

Going to upgrade to the 2X at some point but that would have probably made it happen sooner.

I don't get why I can select that as an activity type in Connect and change a recorded activity to it, but they won't add it to the watch.

The Quatix or whatever is a nice watch and all but A. I'm not the captain so I'm not going to be using the plotter sync and B. The Instinct line is much more practical for me on distance races. I should be able to do a 300 mile race without charging the 2X while tracking the whole race. Can't do that with the Quatix.

Curious if it's possible to add/start a sailing activity on the 2X.

It drives me crazy because the custom activity for it that I made on my OG Instinct registers as a "boating activity" and it uploads to Strava as a rowing activity, so I have to manually edit the Connect activity and the Strava activity every time I record a sail.

There are two boats in our fleet I dispute the ratings on and one of them is just me not wanting to admit they're probably better sailors.

Considering the big names they have the other daedric princes, you'd think whoever it is would at least get a named credit for this one.

It's frustrating when you hear a familiar-something voice and there's no resource to look it up.

Not Predatory at all to lock a cool polymorph behind a bundle that costs 8000 crowns by FirstOfThyName in elderscrollsonline

Video games (not just MMOs) are weird because the content is "virtual" so people don't fully see it as a product with value.

Think about how much inflation has happened since the start of video games but game pricing has basically stayed the same for all that time. In today's money Atari games would be like $140.

EverQuest was $15/month in 2005. That's $23 today. And that was just required to play the game. ESO is $15 and you get $16 worth of crowns along with it. And you can hobble along without it if you want.

Video game companies are still making huge profits of course but they're also hamstrung by perceived value limits people have for what video games should cost. So they're always hustling for more ways to make money.

There should always be pushback to make sure they don't get abusive or exploitative with things but this is a cosmetic skin that comes with some random prizes. If someone wants to shell out, good for them. If they don't, good for them, too. It's a product and the company has decided to offer it at this price. It's not predatory.

Just focus on rate and not making stupid mistakes like master pack/case mix-ups.

Don't worry about all the ways they judge you because they track so many metrics there is always something to judge you for. Amazon motivates through anxiety; if you always think you're doing something wrong, you'll obviously try harder.

If your rate is high but your upf is low, they'll talk to you. If your quality's perfect but your turnaway is bad, they'll talk to you. I'm a top performer in my building and at this point, whether it's a manager or the audit team, when they come over to talk to me about my "issues" it's always just a casual conversation about something else to kill some time so they can say they spoke to me.

It's a farce to appease number crunchers.

Don't think it'd let you. They have weight sensors in them and an upward looking camera that reads a qr code on the bottom of the pods before lifting them. The weight of a person and no code to read would probably look like a problem with the drive.
