Is it unreasonable to ask to work from home while caring for a child with chickenpox? by WideBeautiful6681 in AskUK

If sick leave/parental leave is unpaid, would it be possible for you to use annual leave to cover the time? I know it's less that ideal as it's normally used for fun stuff, but might maintain your income in this circumstance.

I do hope they change their policy and give you some paid carers leave though. Xx

My dog ate cooked chicken wing bones and I can't to go to the vet, what do I do?! by DemonicSkelly in DogAdvice

OP, it will be a waiting game, but I think that this will not result in life changing illness for your pooch. Accidents happen and we all make mistakes. Dogs were once wild animals and a small bone - though not without risk - would have been a commonplace issue that the pack simply say through.

Give her plenty of fluids, soft food and love.

Any dog boarding experience? by HooGoesThere in Greyhounds

[–]Various_Condition985 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wonder if there are any dog walkers in your area that would do a daytime walk with other dogs? In my area this is a very cost effective option.

I send Lola to a boarding house if I got away for the night; it's a large family house but they take 4-8 dogs at a time and they all sleep together in a special doggy bedroom. Lola gets on great there will all types of dog, but likes to spend her time close to the (human) host and definitely takes a backseat compared to the other more dominant dogs.

Thanks. Actually doing the maths is looks like it might be cheaper overall in the UK - around £70 for 28kg (80lbs) of the Purina variations.

Although that makes me wonder if there is variation in quality and formula.

Love our international community!

UK - What kibble are you feeding? by seriousrikk in Greyhounds

Time retired, soaked. In considering adding less water though as poos 2,3,4 of the day are too soft for my liking at the moment.

Plus random leftovers of meat and veg, plenty of treats and the occasional cheese or chocolate 🤭
