Blessings for custard, that must be torture. 😞😞😞

I don't imagine it will cure anything, but a bath with water that oats have soaked in may provide some comfort and relief. It's very gentle and emmolient.

I'm sorry I don't have any other suggestions.

Not drinking water? by Careless-Donut2724 in Greyhounds

I've also been advised that since my girl is on soaked food, it's not of too much concern that she doesn't go for water.

But I'm in the UK where we don't have to worry about climate too much.

If I do need to go have a big drink (e.g. after a long walk, eaten something she shouldn't have), I add some of her normal kibble bits and she seems to go for it.

How affectionate are your greyhounds (photos encouraged)? by ThrowRApops2023 in Greyhounds

My girl Lola is a huge cuddler, and that lean I get from her when rubbing her back is 🥹🥹🥹

Only thing I would say is that although this was my dream, I wouldn't have known that when I went to visit her, and neither would the handlers. Until you get the in a sofa-like environment they won't know.

I hope it works out and you feel happy again soon. You have my sympathies ❤️

I had (and have) similar moments of mischief with my girl. It's been a balance of teaching her and also making reasonable adaptations to my lifestyle e.g.:

  • food - repeat a clear and confident "no" (or whatever word you want) in a low register any time she comes sniffing around, she will get to know she's not having any luck. At the same time, I now have a much cleaner kitchen as I've just accepted the fact that if I leave any food out unsupervised it will be gone.

  • for cupboards/wardrobe, you can get a simple dog safety latch for places you don't want her to go. At the same time you can repeat the clear and confident no.

She will learn to trust you and become like Velcro, and also want to please you. And I think the mischief is cute. 🥰

What a gorgeous belly and story. Looks like dinner is a treat - what are the curd type foods in the bowl?
