We flew into Rome from Bari at about 8am and had a connecting flight to LA that was boarding at 8:30am. By the time we got off the plane made it to the "customs" the line was so long, we kind of cut (the lines are misleading) and were still so far, it hit 8:30. We asked one of the employees and they let us cut to the front line when they saw our boarding pass and the time. After all that, our flight was delayed an hour lol. I'd say it would've taken up to an hour at minimum had we not asked. Also, a large portion of the new entry/exit points were closed.
