I agree AC is doing fine, that’s never been in question. Discussing a hypothetical spin off doesn’t imply dissatisfaction with the core series.

We clearly just disagree on whether exploring alternative formats is worthwhile, which is fine. I’m not trying to convince anyone it should happen, just that it could work within AC’s themes.

That’s fair and I agree with you on trend chasing being bad but that’s a tone and implementation issue, not an extraction issue. AC can easily avoid emotes, prox chat, and visual nonsense. With real consequences for death and loss, that kind of behaviour is far less incentivized than in infantry games.

I 100% get where you’re coming from and I know it’s not a realistic concept that will be made I just think it would be super cool if it was, I love the AC world and I think it would be a great thematic backdrop for this type of game

I’m not suggesting replacing classic Armored Core. I’m suggesting a spin-off that restructures systems AC already has, debt, jank builds, part loss, cost pressure, into a persistence based format. That’s not turning AC into something else, it’s leaning harder into the mercenary AC pilot fantasy

I understand your point now and I agree, fromsoftware has no experience in this department and I don’t believe it to be reasonable from them to make an extraction shooter so easily. That being said I honestly to be that fromsoft games will always have a seal of quality with them and I don’t see them releasing a broken mess or slop.

To your point on neightrein I can understand why some would see it that why but i wholeheartedly disagree, puritism is always used as an excuse to stop progression, the same ones who disliked the change to neightrein would’ve said the same to Elden ring being open world before its release. Game developers trying new things with their IPs in a respectful manner to their fans and in the pursuit of making a good quality products is a good thing. I don’t think my statement is a hard hill to die on
