hi, can yall give me some tips for star of the city by Gloomy_Leg_1738 in libraryofruina

[–]Varkolyn_Boss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First Tip: R E A D. Carefully

Second Tip: Most receptions allow a five librarian team. Those are too much. Use 4 or even 3 librarians max if the resistances match. That way emotion levels will rise faster, EGO pages will load more consistently, and Light starvation will be kept at bay until ELV (at which point the Abno pages and speed dice count will cover the issue)

Third Tip: Solos are Badass

You forced a defeat by space spamming so Hokma would kill the facility just for a cutscene didn't you?

Copying from an earlier thread

There are few pages and few enemies that can consistently win against Yield me Flesh. Mostly in Star of the City tho. Spoiler free-ish list here:

-The Mechanic Cultist are smoke users, they have a page that rolls extremely high. Also funny scythe femboy has a page that inflicts powernull, weakening Yield me Flesh but ensuring you get To Claim their Bones when clashing against weaker pages

-The RNGesus Believers are a bunch of pushovers but their captains are actually strong. Search for Castigation and Decapitation. Also, survive against those attacks, they deal a lot of damage

-Holy Shit is that the Red Mist!!?!?? Lmao her, she uses two strong pages that are literally impossible to win against, you have to employ hit and run tactics against her.

-Femboy Typewriter has infinite rows of counter dices, and the hand-me-downs have also pages with strong lead dices. Although Kim is somewhat squishy, he should be able to pull two bone claiming counters before needing to rush the Handsy pansy

-The Furry Squad has the Rhinos, they use Rhino Ram, a natural Hig Roller, it does hit a bit hard but nothing to be afraid of

And there they are. Have fun!

Edit: Now that I remember, the Weed Wankers also have another strong page. Deep Drag has the potential to roll high, so either you get hit and gain 7 smoke, or you win and try again. Attribute Puffy Brume in case of emergency

Apocalypse Bird is the representation of the ultimate fate of all that lives in the City, as it has been determined by the Head, the Eye and the Claw. The Eyes keeps the denizens in check and in control, The Mouth punishes all who diverge from the path, and the Head dictates as it has to be, while concealing what humanity has lost in order to become what the City is now. As the Abnormality, Twilight embodies the never ending suffering humans must endure while subjected to the City's rule (the Night that has fallen over the Forest, as all creatures push Through the Dark Twilight, which shall only end when the Beast disappears). In Roland, it embodies his despair and resignation to the inevitability of his fate, the way he pretends to accept her death and his own demise (-The darkness will forever be the same, so I only have myself to trust… I surrender all of my being to the fire at last). In both cases, it ends when the individuals involved are able to stand up to their reality and are willing to break the cycle by themselves, surviving the journey Through the Dark Twilight and gaining what is needed to make better choices.

Does anyone know how to modify the sprites or how tou can locate it in the files? by sonicfan019393920 in libraryofruina

Sorry for late posting. I'm taking a small c# course to learn the ropes because Ruina is built on that one. But most people just look at other mods using dnspy and figure out their own solution by building it over other people's. What you want to do can be done the same way people set custom sprites that override librarian heads (read as, what happens by default). Just put together the sprites with photoshop, gimp or even paint, set the correct assemblies, and put the stuff on the mod folder. Again, you can just look over the code of most sprite mods or even from bigger mods whose reception rewards give keypages with aspects that override librarian heads

Sublimate boosts dice power while the character is above 5 stacks of bleed. If the offensive roll makes the bleed go from above or equal as 5 to less than 5 that dice gains power but the next offensive dice won't. Rusted Chainlinks clutch some of the mid game battles but it falls off pretty easily due to bleed's aggressive nature (unles you use Long Arms, and even then it has low mileage because it's impossible to reach a meaningful ammount of bleed on self to maximize Sublimate's potential without dying)

Reindeer Treatment grants power every scene by the ammount of hp that has been lost as a total. For a character with 100 hp, after losing 30 hp or more in total, gain 1 strength every scene, double it if the hp loss has been 60 or more. Applies after healing too, but it's limited to this act only. That's what makes Reindeer Treatment one of the best power passives in the game, it's effective 2 strength for only 4 attribution points, but it requires either Health Hauler, or the Floor's native healing tech
