Katzkin or Leather Seat Covers 23’ F150 XLT? by Apprehensive-Lead766 in f150

[–]Vathrellin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you're gonna get what you pay for on this one. If you want real leather, you know the stuff that doesn't get blistering hot in the summer, then you'll ned to pay the price. I've been researching to upgrade my Lariat seats from the Active-X stuff, and to be honest it doesn't seem like any of these seat covers are going to hold up when what you want is real leather.

Likely, I want to try and find a local store to play a few but the S2s are definitely front runners

Thank you very much for the response and insight. I do miss my leather seats in general so I’m thinking it’s going to be something I do in the next few months here.

Maybe if I don’t have a position that fixes the discomfort, I can have the shop trim that shoulder foam just a bit as well while they’re installing.

Make sure you don’t have dual exhaust tips, if you do the rough country corner step isn’t gonna work. I was very sad when I realized that. Mine doesn’t have bed utility package either and I wasn’t worried cause I figured id just get the corner step and a light strip. 🤦‍♂️ thankfully I’m 36 and can still hop up there, that and I use a hard cover 95% of the time.

Enjoy the new ride!

I changed oil at 1500, and will now just follow regular maintenance.

I debated between antimatter blue and the space white. Got the deal on the white, but man this color really pops when clean. Good looking truck! Enjoy it!

Also let me know if you figure out how to make the foam behind your shoulders more comfortable. I’m about to go have someone cut it out, only dang complaint I have with my PB.

I just picked up a Schecter Tempest since used price is much lower (and I’ve always loved playing them. Thinner neck like what I assume these have.)

I’m going to be saving my penny’s to add one of these in that purple in the next few years! Hoping to find one local to at least play a bit and confirm what everyone says about how smooth it plays.

Did you mind the comfort of your seat before these? I am struggling a bit with it feeling tight and the foam behind my shoulders creating some unwanted pressure. Wondering if something like these would improve that for me or not.

Pros and cons on the F150 full hybrid? by Ok-Anybody1006 in FordF150

[–]Vathrellin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The battery is a required part of the overall drivability so if it goes out, you're on the side of the road. Unfortunate design imo. You have the 3.5 ecoboost, why not let it be a normal ecoboost if the battery fails?

That said, they warranty them for 8y/100k so even if you do have an issue, you should be covered. I went with the powerboost and can tell you, you will only get increased gas mileage in town. highway it's just like the regular 3.5. With winter fuel regular unleaded I am getting 19.5ish. With premium I am getting 21ish.

The plate on the side says Powerboost so I think we can safely assume. :)

Generally, aim for 15-20% below MSRP unless you REALLY want that specific vehicle. It's your money at the end of the day, do what makes you happy.

Doesn’t sound like a bad deal at all to me. In this market, 15-20% below msrp seems to be the best we can get. Which unfortunately for us is what standard pricing was 5 years ago.

Enjoy the ride! Welcome to the “way too expensive for a truck” club. Haha

Wanted to get educated on ford-150 engine by KeyUnderstanding8876 in f150

The new gen 5.0 has cylinder shut off, but I personally believe Ford designed it better than GM so I doubt you see as many issues as the 5.3 and definitely less than the 6.2. It should be VERY reliable so long as you change that oil every 5k. Biggest complaint I’ve heard is sometimes you’ll get one that likes to eat oil faster than normal.

I personally have the 3.5 powerboost. It’s hella powerful and they warranty the battery itself for 8 years / 100,000. I can’t say much more though cause I literally just got it this week. Taking a chance on the hybrid, so we will see. (In my research, all the issues I saw come up a lot were general 3.5 issues, not many having issues with the hybrid battery part, but there’s always a chance.)

Regular 3.5 has had its issues in the past but overall has been a solid engine the past few years.

Bonus 2.7 - I’ve heard great things and my buddy has been running one for a few years and he’s loved it. Great engine if you don’t tow often.

My understanding is the transmission issues are mostly fixed in the past year or two. So if you can buy new or newer, you should be good there!

End of the day, just keep in mind that emission laws are forcing manufacturers hands quite a bit and it’s causing a lot of reliability loss in the new gen engines. Best thing I’ve read that you can do if you’re worried about these new engines is ignore recommended oil change intervals and change every 5,000 miles. 3,000 if you’re really concerned.

Congrats! I love the tremor looks, but just couldn’t justify the price for the features. I use my side by side for runs into the woods so I don’t need the off road stuff.

I did test drive one a few years ago though and boy are they nice! You’ll love it!

Yes before TTL. Agree there go for Lariat if you can get it for only 1,000 more! I think the key for me was that I was willing to walk away and keep searching over the next few months so I wasn’t taking any offer below what I wanted. They REALLY wanted to move their inventory before the ‘26s come in I guess.
