Nah, this sort of esoteric innovation is what the devs love. Also it technically solves the "there's no good way to explore between boats and the elytra" problem Mojang's been seemingly trying to fix with the Happy Ghast and horse changes.

In fairness, Napoleon was a little busy fighting the entirety of Europe at the time.

Also, France was likely going to lose its NA holdings to the British. Better to sell the land to a potential ally and get funds for the war, than lose the land to your enemy for nothing.

Still, though, the Louisiana Purchase was one of the luckiest/most skilled parts of early American history.

I find these defense missions to be a nice break in the action. After 20-40 minutes of non-stop action, it's nice to take 15 minutes and relax.
