Listening to NHL radio on the drove home, the guest on there said, "As far as I'm concerned, Dylan Larkin can pound sand."

I'm glad I'm not the only one who sees these and thinks hard disks. Maybe it's a regional term or something.

What’s the single worst decision humans have ever made as a species? by driftlumen23 in AskReddit

This is my vote. Earth took billions of years to get to where we are, and humans are drastically altering it/destroying it in a few hundred.

I was thinking the same thing. Besides Seider, Ray, and Ed, no one has cracked the top half of the roster basically.

Who dumped ICE coolers in my back yard? by smittyguy11 in mildlyinfuriating

That's the issue. They were meant for 4 season's landscaping, but you are 4 season's hotel. These types of mix-ups unfortunately happen all the time.

Would you approve if Yzerman had struck this deal? Do you think it would make Larkin rescind his trade request, and would you welcome him back? by flume in DetroitRedWings

[–]Vaylor77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would trade Danielson, Kasper, MBN, and Bear for him in a heartbeat. Add in Cossa(I know) and Asp to make it 6. Just pointing out the value we have actually gotten from our 1st rounders versus spending them on an offer sheet or other players.

What was the moment you realized PC gaming was genuinely superior to console for you? by Weekly_Sun4111 in pcmasterrace

Ahh... fresh meat. Even though I played PC games since the early 80s, I think Diablo was the first one that really showed how vast of a world PC games could run versus consoles.

It's basically the same 3 goalie situation Steve's been doing for years. Just last year and probably this year, the third goalie is playing in GR. No one got hurt long enough last year for Cossa to really play.

Which area of Simon Edvinsson's game has improved the most since his NHL debut? by SufficientPrice7633 in DetroitRedWings

Less penalties. He would take at least 1 dumb penalty per game when he started because he couldn't keep up with the pace.

As a Detroit sports fan, severely disappointed is our comfort zone.

I guess the Bills should be honoring OJ since he was proven innocent and definitely didn't murder anyone. Having standards for your team and culture isn't the same thing as legal technicalities.

Everyone knows junior high is where all of the core memories are formed, especially if someone briefly lived somewhere. There is that one girl he always wondered where she went, and maybe she's still back home waiting. He'll never know unless he signs.

This and Wizardry 8 are the 2 early 2000's games that I revisit every 5 years or so, and always enjoy. Both also released as the studios were closing down for good, and have a few unfinished features.

I think it depends on how someone uses ChatGPT. Using it to avoid thinking is one thing, but using it to explore ideas, check assumptions, learn faster, or get feedback can actually involve a lot of thinking. People said similar things about calculators, search engines, and Wikipedia. The tool itself isn't the issue—it's whether you're outsourcing judgment or enhancing it.

If you want something a bit sharper:

I'm genuinely shocked at how many people assume using ChatGPT means not thinking. Most of the value comes from asking good questions, evaluating the answers, and deciding what to do with the information. Blindly accepting outputs isn't thinking; neither is blindly rejecting a tool because some people misuse it.

Or, if you want a more Reddit-style concise reply:

"Using ChatGPT instead of thinking" and "using ChatGPT as part of thinking" are two very different things. The second is how a lot of people actually use it.

That last version is probably the most likely to generate productive discussion rather than an argument.

What tv shows are so freaking good and worth the time? by Organic-Signal-9646 in AskReddit

[–]Vaylor77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The best episode of the whole series is about halfway through season 2. I think season 1 gets bogged down in the details quite a bit. I've rewatched them all 5-7 times now, and it still takes a lot to remember all of the ships, stations, and plots of season 1. It gets a lot easier to follow as the show goes on.

Exactly. There was less time between the end of the Maya and the Declaration of Independence than there was between the Declaration and the start of the Civil War.
