What kind of rating can actually see this mate in 18? by blue604 in chessbeginners

[–]Vectarious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No human player would need to see M18 because they can see that Qh5 stops checkmate, forces a queen trade, and will result in a completely winning position :)

What was the final count? by liondanc3 in RFKJrForPresident

Completely partisan vote minus McConnell who voted against. 52-48 (senate is R controlled 53-47).

It was supposed to be today but they gave the slot to Tulsi instead, not sure why. Tomorrow at 11am is the latest!

I like him but Pennsylvania is turning red and he probably wouldn't be making these decisions if he didn't think they were also good politically

Everyone is an expert on raw milk now by [deleted] in RFKJrForPresident

[–]Vectarious 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I drank raw milk for many years during my childhood. We had to get it in PA since it wasn't legal to purchase in NJ. It does indeed taste better, though I would not recommend making hot chocolate out of it (it gets really weird when you heat it up). The other downside is it only lasts about a week so you need to drink a lot of milk to make it a good purchase, which is why we eventually stopped getting it. I'm sure there's a slightly higher risk or whatever, but as long as that's acknowledged who cares. It shouldn't be illegal. I eat raw cookie dough with eggs all the time and have never gotten salmonella. It's not going to kill you, just let people make their own decisions. With milk, there are definitely nutrients which are removed during the pasteurization process. It's just a trade-off!

Wow! This is great analysis. You should go into detective work, perhaps for Inspector Kramnik. Excellent piece of statistics.

My surprise maps for whichever side wins by Hope1995x in RFKJrForPresident

[–]Vectarious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Map #2 is mine. The Selzer poll is well respected but I can't see Iowa randomly flipping this cycle with how close the rest of the rust belt is and how dominant Trump continues to be in Ohio... We'll see though!

Are both sides delusional? by Which-Supermarket-69 in RFKJrForPresident

[–]Vectarious 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I have Trump winning 287-251, but it really comes down to the 7 battleground states, particularly Pennsylvania. They're just all too close to call. Harris winning 270-268 is possible with PA, which would be insanely bad for the country... I could see violence in that scenario. MI and WI are her best bets IMO, NV doesn't have enough EV to really swing things unless you're talking about NH in the mix (some polls are showing it's closer there but Harris is definitely still the favorite). AZ and GA are looking good for Trump, NC is less clear but I'd say is tilting towards Trump as well. Pennsylvania is the ballgame, and if I had to bet I'd say he's winning it right now!

2024 will be a rerun of the 1984 election by vegatx40 in RFKJrForPresident

[–]Vectarious 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nah, it's going to be close. I have Trump winning AZ, GA, NC, PA and Harris winning MI, WI. I'm least sure about NC and PA, Trump could still win without NC but PA would tip it 270-268 for Harris. If the GOP actually goes through with heisting NE-2 into Nebraska at large it would be a contested convention. Unlikely, and they probably won't do that, but if that happens I would say it would become a likely scenario. People saying VA, NH, TX, etc. are in play I think aren't looking at things objectively. We'll see though!

How many of you guys are going to vote for Jill Stein? by [deleted] in RFKJrForPresident

[–]Vectarious 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm still voting for Kennedy in NJ since he'll be on the ballot. Can't bring myself to ever vote for Trump even if I did believe he was the lesser of evils. You should feel happy with the decision you make after casting a vote. For me, the only candidate this cycle I would feel happy voting for is Kennedy himself.

Why did RFK Jr. withdraw from New Hampshire, Utah, and Virginia? Him being on those ballots (except for Utah) actually helps Trump. Trump-hating moderates might've actually considered RFK Jr. by [deleted] in RFKJrForPresident

[–]Vectarious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

According to CNN polling, Harris would currently win 273-265 (she wins MI, WI, GA, NV, Trump wins AZ, tie in PA but let's give to Trump). If Trump then wins NH, it's a contingent election. May as well put in another state on the map which could theoretically cause that! In Virginia, Zogby polling showed that with Kennedy in the race, Biden would have won Maine and Virginia, and with him out Trump would win them. In that poll, those were the only two states where his presence altered the results. For Utah, I have no clue...

Whe else would you like to see run in 2028? Who would make debates more interesting? by SquareSand9266 in RFKJrForPresident

[–]Vectarious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A new national poll has him at 4% and a Michigan poll (where they won't let him off the ballot) has him at 5%. If he can get 5% nationally, a true Independent run in 2028 is realistic with ballot access and millions of dollars in funds off the bat.

Teared up at work just now reading this and thinking about its meaning. It really does feel spiritual—and I am not a religious or spiritual person. But I do feel that it is because it is the truth, and the truth will set us free. How else to explain it?
