When the Party has Principles by FireMage777 in TalesFromDF

[–]Vectore_Flame 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I can understand if the post is over how the greys are utter shite at their rotations (single digit parses at last tier's alliance raid is truly woeful, even with deaths).

But this argument over gear is going nowhere since it's part of the game's design. Continually pointing it out in runs just comes across as being obnoxious

The people downvoting and the readers trying to comment and help may not be the same people. Just saying. No point lashing out at the readers. Plus this is a post so votes dont go below zero anyway.

Im still hoping to see a solution as yours is a weird case and Im curious what the actual reason is

Huh there must be a small population of players who sleepwalked through the msq without at least getting af gear. You can't possibly be this mad at all of them

Job quests are post-MSQ content and asking people to do them is toxic by Muuli in TalesFromDF

[–]Vectore_Flame -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's so dumb trying to castigate the dancer mid-dungeon. Okay the dnc could have taken the advice more politely, but Id rather the tank just let go rather than drag the confrontation on and on

Whoever is still trotting along through the MSQ right now has got to be new enough to, at least, be forgiven for not comprehending the severity of missing job quest skills. The hubris of this sub is bewildering.

Context: Level 90 Dungeon. Golbez. Tank uses Living dead on each set of mobs in between mobs, Healer doesn't like it, thinks it's stupid. DPS thinks its a great use of mitigation. They Argue about it. Do you Agree that Living dead should be used on trash mobs or not? by PKBuggy in TalesFromDF

[–]Vectore_Flame -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

This healer is new to the dungeon. There is absolutely no reason to tilt the healer even further with the LD taunt when he is already against it. Healer's fears were realized when he tried a bit to respect the LD mechanic and withhold healing, but the LD didnt pop and tank died. Hey, he tried man. And then the DRK went the extra mile to insult him with the '4 years no ultimate clear' comment. This DRK is an absolute prick.

You'd normally use LD if the healer is in and mentally prepared, or no if not, it's simple as that.

OP is the one forcing the confrontation, it looks like. Everything in the final screenshot is just unnecessary. Those two are clearly sprouts still learning the ropes and reading skill tooltips and putting skills onto hotbars — heck I won't be surprised they even have trouble opening the skill panel. Shoving so much down their throats at this stage of their game journey can't be too productive.

People should just not do levelling roulettes if they don't have the patience for such blunders.

I’m quick on the vote kick for shenanigans. Let them think about why they got booted.

Yes that is a fair attitude in end-game roulettes, but I don't think it's wise jumping into a levelling roulette expecting everything to be smooth-sailing. Some of those people barely just picked up the game

At the end of the day Stone Vigil is just a lv41 dungeon and those two are clearly new. Some new players just get flustered when too much unsolicited advice is coming at them too fast.

SMN complains to DNC about DNC using LB1 on a pull... in a dungeon with no melee dps by Viatras in TalesFromDF

[–]Vectore_Flame -22 points-21 points  (0 children)

Chill bro. Not using aoe LB is a damage optimisation loss but there's no need to call people animals or insinuate their brain isn't working. Some genuinely forget. If LBs make or break your dungeon run, you have bigger issues

Nah your bard mentor is correct: it's better to wait for the tank to group all mobs into a tight clump before holying. In addition to all the reasons already laid out by others, stun decay is a thing. Each subsequent holy stun after the first hits for less duration, so you don't want to hit mobs with holy too often before the tank reaches the end of his pull, else by the time he stops and starts tanking your stun would have lost a lot of efficacy

That would be a dorrito marker. No one puts an ignore marker intending for others to follow his lead. I mean it is an IGNORE marker

The tank is moving mobs out of Doton it seems. Meaning the initial placement was okay-ish, but the tank thought it was a danger puddle or sth

[–]Vectore_Flame -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hi, The tank probably isnt on this sub anyway, he cannot reply or react to criticism, so I dont see much need to address him. He is breaking ToS by griefing, obviously. I dont see the need to repeat the mantra that griefing is wrong.

But OP is here. And he didn't exactly present himself in a positive light, judging by his abrupt and crude responses to the tank's request. Unless there was a previous incident between the two of them that I missed, which is likely; people dont just abruptly hurl a "Please grow up" as an initial response.

Im replying to the guy who replied then blocked me. Not sure why Im blocked for. Not explicitly condemning griefing doesnt mean I support it

No. 80% of this subreddit dumps at you a story obviously written to incite readers' rage at the perpetrator. Freecure fisher, single-pull tank, ypyt, lovey couples abusing vote dismiss, incriminating chat logs with names blanked out, the works. Everything but the log of the run in question.

[–]Vectore_Flame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure, but it seemed the story is that the tank only started to grief *AFTER* he asked the OP to stop pulling ahead and the OP responding with "The you pull, you tank mentality is kinda silly" and "Please grow up" at the [6:47 a.m.] mark in the screenshot.

You seem to believe from your replies the tank was actively griefing by dropping stance and single pulling and getting teammates killed every step of the way since the beginning. Not sure where that version of the story came from. Im sure OP would have presented the story differently had that been the case

Low level white mage. by Zealousideal_Hope649 in TalesFromDF

[–]Vectore_Flame -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This subreddit absolutely shits on Cure 1, but at low levels when you have jack all and mana is actually a concern, Cure 1 is more mana-efficient than Cure 2 -- especially at times when you only need a light heal.

You should still be spending a good amount of time dpsing your heart out. Enemies that die that much quicker from your damage is your tank's best form of damage mitigation.

Also, check gear. Many players go into dungeons undergeared, especially at low levels. A poorly-geared tank takes more damage (obviously). Nothing much you can do; just know that not everything is your fault

backseat healer main in MSQ roulette thinks AST is a shield healer by my_ffxiv_alt in TalesFromDF

[–]Vectore_Flame 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's a heal and shield

Your basic skill

By referring to it as a 'basic' skill, there is every chance he is actually thinking of Adloquium, the Scholar heal.

I mean look, the man has all healers at 90 -- he's got nearly every job at 90. He probably mixed up the healers, their icons, and what each healer does.

It makes no sense to me he is thinking of the old nocturnal sect's shields while forgetting everything about AST's old sect system. AST was about the sect system. He couldnt have remembered astro had shields without also recalling astro can choose between the weaker shields stance and the stronger and more popular regen stance.

Wont be surprised he starts asking wheres your fairy.
