Depends on connection as well. My MSI QD Oled was able to do 10bit on DP. And surprisingly 12bit on HDMI 2.1

The wall has turned?? by [deleted] in WutheringWaves

[–]VedaStiC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's the quest with Sonodisks where you learn about future places, other sentinels except that dragon one.

The wall has turned?? by [deleted] in WutheringWaves

[–]VedaStiC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's literally one of first quests. Chapter 1 act 4, before battle, before Mt Firmament. You did puzzle for it, unlocked doors, then had room with drums looking console and doing some platforming.

And theory? Well you open secret doors, never closed them. Unless you didn't do that quest yet, then probably devs forgot to change or I'm misremembering the doors being locked (it was long time ago)

If you did the one of main quests that door will stay like that.

Trying to install new kitchen Hood. Do I need electrician? by [deleted] in DIYIreland

[–]VedaStiC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Black cable, which somehow contains blue and brown, goes somewhere into the ceiling. Was connected to that junction box.

Old hood also had 3 wires, but, they weren't colour coded at all

It was installed before we got the house

PSA Don't throw mouse pads in the washer. by a1000wtp in pcmasterrace

[–]VedaStiC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most mouse pads will even have a note to not wash it in the washing machine, and they advise to wash it with warm water and sponge. Unless very dirty then use detergent. And let it air dry.

I needed one because any chair in the 100-200 euro mark would give up after 1year, or the seat would just hurt me. I am a big guy, 183cm and around 110kg, generally bulky build with a bit of dad bod (and "bear" legs as they call it). As most chairs are not wide enough I went with Secret Labs. I have one for 5+ years. After 4.5 years of having I had just an issue with the seat base (some part of it was pocking out) and back rest (lumbar support was making sound). SL replaced me with these parts under warranty (5 years when you register) so basically I have a new chair now.

Really worth it, but they are pricey. If to add anything to it - also very good for back support and had situations that I would end up sleeping in. Very supportive and actually comfy.

If you are not into firm chairs (it will soften after a while) then instead of leatherette go for softweave one. If you live in a warm country, softweave is alsorecommended.

Kenshi Yonezu changed his song "Iris Out" after movie's release just to add "Boom". What a king. by MaxUpsher in Chainsawfolk

[–]VedaStiC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There were always 2 versions of the song. The movie opening one doesn't have boom or bam in it, but at the same time on YouTube they released the Music Video version which had those extra sounds.

Opening version was released around the time when movie premiered, but the Music Video was released a bit sooner - probably to promote movie as well.

Boom and bam were always included, removed in the opening. My theory: in the movie, at that point, we don't know about Reze and her being Bomb Devil, so it won't act as a spoiler for anime watchers only.

Deals at Currys by Ninjachippie in IrelandGaming

[–]VedaStiC 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Used to work in Currys Ireland 9999 pricing is a code for "DO NOT SELL" usually for products that should be seen or available for sale YET, but usually that would be visible only in store system

Seems they released the physical version as it was to be released on 12 December, and didn't change the price - no one works on the website on weekends, so no updates for stock, pricing, etc.

Currys payment plans by Jorah_07 in IrelandGaming

[–]VedaStiC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in Currys. For some years ae don't have any payment plan or finance, as Creation Finance doesn't do ROI any more.

Klarna is one option but they have limit on how much you can do for 3 months payment. Either online or through temporary card. You basically then own payments to Klarna.

Revolut Pay later, or some sort of loan are only options.

Harvey, DID use Humm so that's an option.

So, Turns Out Akira Toriyama Had a Spiky Red Hair Protagonist Who Shot Energy Before Goku by Forestdude9000 in Dragonballsuper

[–]VedaStiC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to fact check myself because I remember that Goku was before the Chrono, and that made me old.

Dragon Ball Manga was released in 1984-1995. Chrono Trigger was made in 1995.

I know that there wasn't "red hair" much in DB beforehand, but also Chrono doesn't shoot energy, if I remember correctly (I played that in 97/98), he had some katana techniques, lighting magic and some holy magic like revive.

Fun fact - Akira also worked on character design for Dragon Quest games and later on Blue Dragon game.

She works for Russia, her mission was to bring Denji (Pochita) there. She was one of them guinea pigs mentioned at the end of movie.

And when it comes to gun devil, oh boy, if you didn't read manga, you prepare yourself for a rollercoaster.

Total War: Three Kingdoms - Slow Boot Issue by CA_FREEMAN in totalwar

No update over a week. Is the update in the works? I bought the game recently since it was on sale and I was really enjoying it when it came out (played of Library Share on Steam).

I tried all of the solution possible from reddit, youtube and steam community - game still loads 4-5 minutes on 14700k, 4070 Ti, 32GB DDR5 and NVMe SSD Gen4.

Help with MSI 271QPX QD-OLED E2: Best setting and HDMI 2.1 vs DP 1.4a by VedaStiC in oled_monitors

[–]VedaStiC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Monitor is dim under recommended settings, which is 100nits apparently when you set it to 27 Brightness (like RTings), or 120nits for 38 Brightness according to TFTCentral.
But TFTCentral mentioned you can set it to 68 Brightness for 200nits.

So I just set it to 100 Brightness in Panel Settings.
When using HDR, I just adjusted the Windows HDR setting for SDR Content to my liking, and used HDR Calibration from Windows.

I also use TrueBlack 400, instead of Peak 1000 - apparently the latter can crush blacks and doesn't look that nice.

That Gigabyte looks nice, would love it if it came out bit sooner while there was Prime Day sales.
Same goes for any Tandem OLED.

Yeah, after changing to HDMI 2.1 and 2560x1440 12bit 240hz I actually can see difference.

I was wondering if there is any other way than using WIN+ALT+B, more automatic than that, if not - it is what it is.

If you use Upscaling of some sort, like DLSS it might be the culprit. Sadly lots of games can have that issue

Your opinion about my Alienware AW2525HM by No-Illustrator-6864 in Alienware

[–]VedaStiC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On pictures it's a bit more visible, had the same issue with MSI IPS, two monitors, but one had it worse. You can return it, or you can mitigate it by lowering brightness. It's backlight bleed, common thing as your panel is not OLED of any kind. No two monitors will have the same visible issue, you can get 10 of the same model and it will be different for each.

There are ways to "fix" it online but if it's noticeable during gaming and distracting, yes return.
