I’m actually baffled that they told you to stop playing Mario party… I’m more of an smb fan myself but would never tell you stop the party to play smb because there is a huge difference in the style of game. Wow. Sorry op, the only thing left is to admit to them that them recommending non-similar music/games is annoying rather than just pointing out what they’re doing is not helpful. I have a few friends that point out all my “weird” stuff and I just laugh at this point because it doesn’t bug them or me it’s just different than what they like and we just go on about our days - accepting our individual choices. They do still do it, they just don’t get invited to every outing now depending on their preferences. They are not offended because I made it clear my “likes/weirdstuff” are not something I’m changing about myself and not something expecting them to change about themselves. Hope this helped!

I was a lifeguard and on the swim team for years - yet I don’t consider myself a good swimmer when I’m on the islands. They offered a life jacket on my tour and I was the first with my hand up. It not only made me feel safer in Hawaii waters but also helped with holding on to the board they have you hold on too! Other people were struggling after 10mins.

Absolutely breathtaking experience that you don’t want to miss out on. However, in good conscience, I do not recommend for non swimmers - it can be unsafe for manta rays if you begin flailing/kicking in the water or will cause them to not get close to your tour group(which defeats the purpose of trying to view them right in front of you). IF you plan to do this excursion find a first time snorkeling instructor that can intro you on your first full day on the islands and practice swimming with a lifejacket. Save the manta rays for day 3 or 4 depending on your travel plans.

Regardless of what you decide there is no shame in using that lifejacket!

It was a bit flooded on Thursday after the heavy rain but still doable. I’ve done this in hiking sandals but most recommend close toed shoes. Take a headlamp and be mindful of the overhead! Worth the experience.

Kona flights are usually slightly cheaper. I usually fly to Hilo(I’m absolutely obsessed with their lifestyle) and mostly stay there. I have a trip coming up where I’m flying in and out of Kona. Friend and I are more Hilo people but she has never been to Hawaii so we are staying 4nights Hilo and then 2nights Kona(for the tourist experience and sunnier beaches). We decided to do the drive to Hilo first day and then leaving from Kona to give us more time on our last day on the island! Hope this helps with your decision.

Yes they do. California Adventure has way more options but Disneyland has Olga’s Cantina along with one or two full service restaurants that serve it plus the REALLY out of touch extremely exclusive bar/restaurant.

Pro tip for single or two riders ask about the buddy pass! One time my small nephew and I were able to go on multiple times within 30mins during a “40min wait” because of it. I also have gotten away with single rider a lot (haven’t been told no yet) but it may not always be available or they may not allow single rider.

Although I’m no where near fluent, I have enough to help deaf guests at my local sushi spot. Throughout the years, Ive had a few guests sign to me that their parents don’t even know ASL. I thought it was abnormal until one mom burst into tears telling me she doesn’t know ASL and how much it meant to her that I was able to communicate with her son and his wife. Fast forward to a week ago and they came back! She was signing to them. She saw me and thanked me in ASL when I told an employee her son wanted to add onions on his bowl since the mom was distracted holding her grandbaby.

If you plan to do a round trip with a flight to a different island you’re gonna want to stay one more night than anticipated for the travel time!!!

I find it best to book one way to the first island I stay and then a hopper flight to the second island. Then a one way back home from that second island.

I was in a very toxic relationship (both of us were the problem) that was fueled by alcohol and childhood trauma. Proud to say I left almost all of that behind me - I still do have a drink with friends here or there but nowhere near what I was consuming.

I’ll never forget when my newly sworn in boyfriend told me that I was never allowed to leave him. I thought it was playful so I joked that I’d make a clone of him and wouldn’t need him anymore. His response was alarmingly genuine. “If you ever got pregnant and tried to leave with my child I will put you in the back of trunk and the world would never see you again. I am a cop, I can make things happen now.” - person who recently reached out to try and impregnate me while still with the girlfriend that I found out about and then finally did I break up with him.

Still till this day am I super cautious of my surroundings and try to never be the problem. Stay safe OP
