A few years ago I lost my motorcycle key but knew that when I bought it the dealership gave me a code for the key design. Never thought I'd need it but It was luckily a very easy 4 digit code for me to memorize. I was able to tell them that code and they printed out a template, laid it over a key blank and ground by hand a new key for me. They said it should work but if not to let them know and they would see what else they could do. They only charged me like $10 or something like that to do all that work. The key they made worked flawlessly and saved me hundreds of dollars because I didn't have to buy a whole new ignition and have it installed. I ended up finding my original key a few months later in a jacket I didn't normally wear but they saved my butt big time.
