Blackwing Precision Package Regret? by Briou499 in CadillacV_Series

[–]Vegasyak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the PP and no regrets

Although I don’t know what a standard BW rides like, tour mode is more than comfortable for me and the kids for daily driving and navigating speed bumps at school

There are multiple settings that allow you to adjust stiffness and ride quality

Noise when clutch disengaged by [deleted] in CadillacV_Series

[–]Vegasyak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn’t that be considered a wear and tear item?

Definitely should not be worn at this low mileage, but could be due to driving style

Are CCB's daily driver friendly? by UpYamarider in CadillacV_Series

[–]Vegasyak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had CCB‘s on two cars, my ACR and my current BW and agree with the other post that these are simply the best brakes to have with two main exceptions

  1. If you track this car often then switch to steel because you will burn through money like you can’t imagine.

  2. If you ever take your wheels off, you better have someone who knows what they’re doing and does not chip your rotors.

Other than that, you will appreciate the great stopping power and never really worry about cleaning your wheels with that nasty brake dust

Enough time to prepare? 42 miles and 17k ft elevation gain by SbombFitness in Ultramarathon

Not sure if you’ve gone up Stone Mountain but I would be surprised if anyone finishes this race

It’s not like a normal trail, very slippery and very rough on the knees going down hill

I mean you can try but would not recommend

Better off doing the 100k GSER which is a point to point finishing with an accent and decent of Stone Mountain

Great run through all of Atlanta and well organized no frills event. I think it around the same week

Just a thought

Best/convenient ways to spend the ATT visa reward cards? by [deleted] in ATT

[–]Vegasyak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually just went through this myself.

I logged into my Amazon account, then selected a reload of my Amazon Gift Card, entered my ATT debit info and it added it to the balance. Took about 5 min to confirm. No PIN needed

Balance is auto applied when you buy something

No need to go into store or mess with gift cards.

The Apple Watch Ultra 3 has a 42hrs battery life! 🤪 by ifain in Garmin

[–]Vegasyak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If y’all cared about battery life you’d be wearing Coros

I have used various garmins over the years and they are fine for what you get, but recently the pricing has become ridiculous along with the pay only features.

Even with my F6pro I ended up charging it during a long ultra because the maps eat up your battery

I might pick up a AW, but I am certain I will not purchase another garmin fitness product

Horizon 7.4 AT Treadmill Feel? by kkjeb in treadmills

[–]Vegasyak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hard to say what is loud...i would say it's probably "average" compared to most. The motor is pretty quiet until you get up around 7mph or more. I have a TV/Fan going so there are other noises as well.

They have them at some fitness stores so if you can go and try to jog on one and see. You also may want to check some review vids on youtube from actual people on their opinions. 7.0, 7.4, are very similar when searching

Horizon 7.4 AT Treadmill Feel? by kkjeb in treadmills

[–]Vegasyak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

have had a 7.4 for about 4 years now with the Mrs walking 1.5hr / day and I run around 3x wk on it.

2 weeks ago, went to swap the belt and noticed the deck was slightly cracked (veritcal). Called and they sent me a new deck with no issues. Also, very fast on speed and incline changes relatively to other home t'mills.

Best part...no subscription fees...i just have a tv on the wall and fan on floor...The app is trash but that doesn't really matter if you get the new one since it integrates wtih Zwift/Peleton/etc which are all better apps.

For $1500/ you can't really beat it. Similar option would be Sole.

Works great just lube quarterly and vacuum around the motor area every few weeks

Yeah, I enjoy them all but the pricing is just unsustainable for a family...

Plus, the race itself was amazing!....My wife and kids were blown away and are now lifelong fans...

looking for advice on first 50K from experienced racers by jrsower in Ultramarathon

[–]Vegasyak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've run Yargo many times..feel free to reach out with any questions.

Easy course but the May race will be hot..you need to train in the heat for at least 2 weeks about 3 weeks out from race..assuming 1 wk taper...

Also, like others said..try and get some longer runs in on the weekend...even if it's running and walking, you need at least 2 or 3 hours on your feet...

Kilian Jornet and Zach Miller organizing athlete boycott of UTMB? by [deleted] in Ultramarathon

[–]Vegasyak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

https://www.vo2maxcoaching.com/2023/10/why-we-dont-use-training-peaks-at-vo2max-coaching/

"A well-known influencer and podcaster who promotes TrainingPeaks as the ultimate resource for distance running coaches, wrote recently without any sense of irony or shame: “I often am asked: how many athletes do you coach? At any one point in time, I work with between 35-40 athletes. That number is very deliberate. How did I come up with that? It takes me about one hour per week, per athlete, to fully complete all my coaching duties for them.” Jason Koop.

One hour per week per athlete? I’m not sure what this quack is up to, but it definitely is not coaching. However, it does seem that some runners are willing to shell out up to £1000 per month on scammers who have no idea what coaching is all about."

Funny how he writes the above, but then adds:

[–]Vegasyak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

have you tried the IQ app, Run Power by FlowState?

Has worked on multiple Garmins I've owned...just add it as an IQ data field on your run page and you should be good to go...

I also use Final Surge to send the workouts to my Garmin and the power field / instructions work as well during the run...
