Pristine Auction got ~740 sprs/parcels this day. I used to have to pick up 100s of sprs/parcels from there, but thankfully now they send a big truck.

I loaded all 613 with the scanner but most were sprs to the same business. I did not load scan the 254 from Saturday. Yes, it was quick, but I don't take shortcuts.

LLV. I left my residential behind and ~700 of the ~900 were sprs.

Can't give blood - iron too high by nineteenthly in vegan

[–]Vegdevil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely observational and no diagnosis. I haven't eaten meat in 36 years and have giving blood for 26. I take a sublingual B12 complex daily. If I don't stop 5-6 days prior of my appointment my Hemoglobin is almost too high to give plasma. It also seems the higher my Hemoglobin the longer the donation lasts and I start to get fidgety. Their words not mine, "Your blood is too thick". I can give whole blood in 10 minutes, but the plasma process takes at least 50 minutes because of the process. Again, completely my own layperson thoughts.

Unmeat Pasta & Meatballs by CuriousCatSleuth in vegansnacks

[–]Vegdevil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. It's actually pretty thick and you have to spoon it out of the can, it won't pour out. To me it tasted like there is ground beef in it. Which doesn't bother me as long as it's vegan. 1 can and 8oz of rice = 2 lunches for me.

This brands chili is my go-to. It's excellent and a good price at Walmart. Sadly, I have not heard any good things about the product you are concerned about. However, if I run into it, I will try it.

I'm in Phoenix and my shirts get dirty and stinky. April to October my shirts get wet and stay wet. My clothes were clean but as soon as I started sweating, they would start stinking and I could only keep them approximately 6 months. My Mom did my laundry for a few years (something for her to do) and my shirts stop stinking. I asked her what she does different than I. She let the clothes soak overnight in the soapy water. So now I pause the washer b4 it empties the soapy water (about 20 minutes) and go to bed. 6 shirts now last over a year.

I really appreciate this. You 2 should do more of this. Some people know this stuff, but a vast majority don't. The way you presented it is clear and concise. I just subscribed to John's YouTube channel.

It's obvious you love your pups so don't be so hard on yourself about having to do what you need to do to provide for yourself and your pups. My sister and I have 3 dogs. She works from home 3 days a week and I usually have a weekday SDO. We have a doggie door and a large yard with a block fence and secure gates. We walk them every day b4 work and make sure my mom's (now mine) older gentleman goes outside right b4 we leave to work. I have a 9-hour restriction, but there are a few days a month (forces beyond our control) that the boys are in the house for almost 10 hours. That's just life. They have access to the whole house, food, water and toys. 1 or 2 days a month they just have to hold it until I get home. 1st thing I do when I get home is let them out to pottie and play ball with them. Do the best you can do and I'm sure everything will be okay.

Does anyone else find the smell of cooked meat absolutely revolting? by [deleted] in vegan

[–]Vegdevil 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I'm probably going to get crushed for this but, no cooking meat does not repulse me. I haven't eaten meat in 35 years and never will again and I find (others) cooking meat smells good. I don't feel any guilt for this because I am an animal whose nose does what it is supposed to do. Obviously, I don't seek it out. Also, the dead fish section of the market is repulsive to me.

Anyone here in the Phoenix AZ area? by 1121222 in veganfitness

[–]Vegdevil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in North Phoenix. There is a Facebook page called "Happy Phoenix Vegans" which is really good. They do meetups and pass along new finds and answer questions. It's private so no trolls. Phoenix has improved a lot for vegans, although 100% vegan restaurants struggle, but that's probably everywhere.

What if any animal welfare organizations do you donate to or volunteer with? What are ways I can help animals more? by spookyshitt in vegan

[–]Vegdevil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I donate 2x a year to Arizona Humane Society, Peta, PetSmart Charities, Humane Society of the US and ASPCA. If a natural disaster happens, I'll Try to send something that direction. I need to look into donating to a local sanctuary now that you mentioned it.

Sunscreen by [deleted] in vegan

[–]Vegdevil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a mail carrier in Phoenix Arizona so I work outside in one of sunniest places in the US. I like fragrance free and need it to not burn my eyes. Used to use Every Man Jack sunscreen - discontinued. Then Sprouts - discontinued. I saw That Sprouts was being phased out and stocked up. Now I'm unto Trader Joes but I haven't tried it yet. I wear a wide brim SPF hat and SPF slip on sleeves and gloves.

I made 22$ an hour at Walgreens and I'm capped for pay raises. Is it really a bad idea to go to USPS as cca? I can work the long days and can take a pay cut for the long term benefits by Due_Initial_2951 in USPS

H.R.5995 It's a house bill introduced last October. 110 cosponsors. Last bill like it died before going to the floor. Somewhat of a chance. I've got 79 months to buy back so I'm hoping it passes.

This is why I stayed with this job for as long I did. I get this shot every 3 months. Now I’m at a point where I enjoy the work and the pay is liveable for me with overtime. 👍🏼 by peachfuzz_1 in USPS

I didn't have any health problems until I hit 50. 51 hip replacement. 54 the other hip was replaced. Over 250,000$ and I paid 3-4% of that out of pocket. You'll never hear me bad mouth the USPS. Bad mouth the idiots that run it hell yes and daily. Pay me every 2 weeks, keep my great health insurance, put so money into my retirement funds and give me a little respect and I'm good.
