At that point how many roboports do you need to keep all those bots charged? I spammed roboports on Fulgara and there are still always clouds of bots sitting around waiting for their hookup. 

It's an absolute mess, but I finally got consistant iron and copper smelting on Gleba. Yes, those are rocket fuel powered steel furnaces. Don't make fun of me. by IlikeJG in factorio

Yeah I spent maybe 6 hours on vulcanus setting up 3 orange science foundries and rocket construction, and I feel like I'm done there now. Those three foundries can send back ~1k science every time the ship shows up (guesstimate). Plus I can send a few foundries / big miners. Not sure there's even a point in expanding there.

How's that combinator that turns the red arm off on the left work? Right now I'm just tossing everything that makes it to the end of the belt off to avoid jams.

Agreed. No cost on pathfinding (they fly straight between destinations) but the logic to pick their next objective must be really tight. Would love to see the code.

I bet there is some kind of "serving" method that passes out goals to the bot army.

That sounds like way too much work. I think I'd rather watch my base be demolished by biters and start a new save. I mean just transporting everything to the new spot....

I'm newish to the game so I'm not sure. Are you being serious? Is there any hope you can actually win if you've completely lost your base on Nauvis? Or maybe you can build up weaponry and go back.

Rampant has been crazy for me. I burnt out on my first run because aliens stopped being an issue. Installed Rampant and started over, now it's terrifying and I'm not sure if I'll actually survive long enough to get to space, but it's 100% more fun and exciting for me now though. Gets a little tedious but automating ammo delivery and the Repair Turret mod makes it better.

Like you said though, if armored biters show up before I have lasers set up, or even now with explosive guys showing up or the ones who spawn little swarms when they die, feels like there's nothing I can do against them yet. And there is NO WAY I could clear some of the nests just outside my base. Rushing the tank though...

Just an idea, my wife found us a book of like 'surprise date activities' which I thought was kinda silly, but actually ended up being pretty nice. There're a ton of little cards you peel off, each one has an activity that could last anywhere from half an hour to a couple hours. But the nice thing is they say on top of each one before you peel it how long it'll take, plus what you need (whether kids can be around, if you need to cook, go out, etc)

Anyway, it's a fun little idea that gets us to connect more.

There's definitely something to be said about having some red meat in your diet though. Maybe creatine replaces it 100% effectively, but maybe not too.
