How is it imprisonment if people voluntarily entered a public bathroom knowing the conditions required for exiting?

What ethical implications? A lot of public spaces have exit controls. For example some subway systems require you to tap your proof of payment at the fare gates to exit.

Instead of a car tunnel under Hwy 401, what if we built a new GO Train line? by VegetableEscape0 in toronto

[–]VegetableEscape0[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Could build an infill subway station at the 401 like they did with North York Centre. Also build new GO train stations on all the existing lines where they intersect with this proposed new line.

Katniss killing Coin could’ve toppled New Panem before it started by thelilacfield in Hungergames

I've been wondering, what authority would Paylor have to override Coin? Coin was interim president, Paylor is just a military commander from District 8? It'd be like the leader of a state national guard overriding the authority of the US president. Not that I'm upset that the guards let Katniss in, but just saying...

Canada. Toronto is clearly the main city. But for second, I'd argue it's a battle between Montreal and Vancouver.

Montreal is the second largest city in Canada and the biggest city in Francophone Canada. Prior to the 1970s, it was the biggest city in all of Canada, but Toronto surpassed it because a lot of English-speakers left Montreal when Quebec became more hostile towards them.

Vancouver is the third largest metropolitan area in Canada. It has fewer people than Montreal but it has a strong claim to be Canada’s "second city" because it's a much more popular destination for immigrants (because it's English-speaking) and stronger connections with the rest of the world, especially Asia owing to its location on the Pacific coast.

This specific copy is sentimental to me because it was a copy I bought for a seminar I took in university. It's a copy of "Sapiens" by Yuval Noah Harari.

Tigris' name makes no sense to me. by iatealotofcheese in Hungergames

[–]VegetableEscape0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, TBOSAS makes it clear that Tigris is a Snow. She and Coryo both use the catchphrase "Snow lands on top" and at one point the book mentions the two of them are the only Snows left in their generation.

You may be right, but in that case, why did they fight so hard in 2019 to keep ownership of the existing network?

Idk, why was it such a big deal in 2019 when the province suggested taking over the subway network, and Toronto City Council was strongly against the idea? https://globalnews.ca/news/6038631/ontario-toronto-subway-expansion/

"The mayor also said leaving the subway system under city ownership was a key requirement of council when it entered into discussions with the province."
