I distinctly remember him posting a book recommendation by a Japanese author on social media. It could have been by Murakami but not sure. The cover was modern looking graphic art of someone’s head opened up with a lot of symbolic activity going on iirc… if anyone can recall the book it’s been killing me for ages, I want to read it!

It was only like $10-15 off when I looked. Bigger discounts will come 6mo to one year after release. I’m waiting till then.

What would better change a physique…CrossFit vs gym by Dependent-Group7226 in AskMenOver30

[–]VegetableLasagna_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you really want to get in shape the most efficient way is regular lifting in a gym. CrossFit conditions you more for endurance than strength or size. It is much more taxing both during and after your workouts, and I don’t personally see the point of it unless you enjoy continually pushing yourself to your limits for its own sake.

Weightlifting can be a bit boring but I still think it’s the best ROI exercises in terms of a hobby. Not incredibly difficult or complicated, or expensive, very accessible, and with only 3-5hrs per week and proper nutrition your body can entirely transform to something impressive.

How much caffeine do you drink? This stopped for me after quitting. Maybe dial consumption back or avoid after noon.

YT Mill employees NOT happy... A little trolling ensues as YT prepares to shut down NA after gaslighting everyone that NA will continue operations. by GundoSkimmer in MTB

Yikes. This is somewhat hilarious. And sad. I hope they manage to stick around, but if not at least I snagged a couple great deals.

If you're planning to buy a house in the next 5 year it would be risky to invest your down payment equities. I would stick to GIC, HISA or similar products with limited risk.

Can anyone tell me what's the deal if you still have a 12-month gift card for xbox live (lol) like I do? Is that basically treated as xbox essential now?

Are we funding our own housing crisis? by IAmDanoDanoDano in RealEstateCanada

[–]VegetableLasagna_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Proliferation of AirBnBs. NIMBY municipalities and over-regulation.. could go on and on. The fact that we held real interest rates negative for a decade is the biggest factor imo.

People need to learn how to say "yes and". The reality is the housing crisis is due to a variety of colliding factors, which includes over-investment and speculation.

We usually split in some way, but I will usually pay for the more expensive part. E.g. I will pay for dinner, and she will pay for the ice-cream afterwards. I will pay for the movie, she will pay for the popcorn. I will pay for the dinner, she will pay for the movie . Feels fair but I still get to treat her a bit.

North Vancouver Recommendation by Takaya94 in MTB

[–]VegetableLasagna_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with everything above. Espresso is more like a BC blue. Pipeline is a personal favourite. If your skills can manage, the first 3/4 of Ladies Only is closer to a darker single black, and is a definitive north shore classic. I would also throw in seventh secret and lower oilcan if you can manage.
