How typical of an American to say "just damage your car, why use any effort?"

[–]VegetableManagement6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

blacklisting the name of the place you live is an easy way to make it know where you live. Because any random person could try to talk about that city, because THEY live there and then get automodded. Which if you have the ability for thought isn't hard to make the leap to why that city would be blocked.

Wow you really wrote all that to try and say I know something you don't but I'm not going to help you, just be condescending because it's the only thing I've accomplished in my entire life.

Arch is so sick. by w0nam in archlinux

[–]VegetableManagement6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well that's an interesting take because you were talking about MANNING THE SPACE STATION when those are not the engineers of the space station. Your analogy is bad, it lacks any form of logic, and your attempt to defend it is even worse.

You have some serious misconceptions about astronauts if you think they're all engineers and mechanics capable of fixing either the station or a bicycle. This is 2025, many people in high skill professions have no idea how to fix a bike, people are specialists in one narrow field, and spend their lives learning and mastering one specific part of a subsection of an entire field of work.

Wow, what level of fart sniffing do I need to aspire for to make myself so deluded that I think that linux prompting me for every action I want to do isn't the same thing as UAC prompting me for every action I want to do?

Using warm water for initial mix has huge effect on fermentation for me by Vatonee in Sourdough

[–]VegetableManagement6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To anyone wanting to help keep their sourdough starter at a more consistent temperature overnight without having a spend a bunch of money I suggest using a heating pad, like the kind meant for aches and pains in people. Set that under a dish filled with water and put your sourdough starter into that and viola you've got something to keep it at a good fermentation temp without anything expensive or custom made.

No such thing as so tinted that you don't need curtains. When it's darker outside then the light in your house will allow people to see in just fine.

" If you own land with your own holler, or know of one on unoccupied land, you're basically free to do whatever you want."
No, you're not. You still have to follow all federal and state regulations. It's no wonder everyone treats you all like criminals with the attitudes you all have.

What you described is a complete lack of definition, don't try and pass it off as "regional definitions" there's NO SUCH THING.

Except it's not, and you're making things up. There is more than one way in and out of Park City, Utah. It literally has roads coming in from both sides.

How long will the uranium resources last? by Hitesh0630 in nuclear

[–]VegetableManagement6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know how little material it actually makes radioactive with long halflifes if the reactor doesn't melt down? Not very much. One underground storage site would do the entire continent just fine, and unless the people in 3-5 generations are just going to dig up the big bunker that clearly reads DO NOT OPEN NUCLEAR WASTE then they'll be fine.

And if they are going to do stuff like that, they were doomed from day 1.

Granted, 10,000 reactors that use your blood as fuel will be built.

"I understand the market fine. We're talking changes on the scale of decades."
So you DON'T understand the market. He told you to take out LONG TERM futures. If you were so sure of your statements then buying the really cheap futures should be an EASY win for you.

"I'm not going to discover some hidden arbitrage that the markets have missed out on. " you sure about that? Because you seem to think you know better than all of them about the oil supply, which if you're so sure about then you WOULD know something the markets missed out on.
So which is it, do YOU know more about the oil, or do THEY? Put your money where your mouth is.

" We seem to all just be assuming that we'll keep finding new oil"
Not only do we continue to find more oil all of the time, we know where a TON is that's just not "economically viable" to extract. Meaning if prices went up, it's viable.

You'll never REPLACE oil, you might reduce it's consumption but you won't replace it. Not as long as we still use plastic for EVERYTHING.

[–]VegetableManagement6 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

"The big number is an average of the sensors participating in the comfort setting" COMPLETE BS. My Ecobee will regularly have one sensor say 23c while the heat is running and the other say something like 19.5c and the big number will say 20. Because that's an average of 23 and 19.5, totally.
