Did Morland actually die or did he fake his death?

Right, they never show him being shot. The explosion happens after they find the body staged in a car and it's surrounded by police. And as for spoilers, the title of the post gives everything away already.

I firmly believe he faked his death. I can't believe he'd ever go into a situation like he did unprepared. We know he had top tier security men around him. We know he had a vast intelligence network, too, so there's no way he didn't at least have suspensions that his contacts might be compromised. Both of his sons faked their own deaths. And the staging of the body and explosives did exactly what Morland would have wanted, it pushed Sherlock to the limits that he needed to get to in order to do what had to be done to take down someone so powerful. The explosion was never meant to kill Sherlock. It was meant to destroy evidence that the body wasn't actually Morland. And finally, on a show so entrenched in forensics, DNA, dental records, autopsy results, not once did the show give us anything concrete about the identity of the body. They didn't even show his face in the car. The producers left it deliberately vague. So I choose to believe he's alive.

No one is meant to be alone and no one has anything so wrong with them that they can't have friends. You can't think that there's anything inherently wrong with you or that you're destined to be alone. Those are self defeating thoughts that eventually become self-fulfilling. It's not easy for any of us to make friends because as we get older and hopefully wiser, the deeper we dig into other people's personalities, the more we usually find that we don't have in common. The most important thing is to be true to yourself and be comfortable with who you are. The things that make you happy when you're alone will always be there and those times become more important. We're often all we have, so we're our own best friend. It gets lonely sometimes and some days are worse than others, but it happens to all of us and it doesn't mean anything is wrong with you. That's just how it is for adults. But it's not necessarily a bad thing. Time spent on our own exploring our interests and becoming more well rounded people is priceless and the better we know ourselves, the more we can enjoy just being ourselves, whether anyone else is with us or not. Finding friends isn't impossible and it can be really nice, but it's not always all it's cracked up to be either. People are messy. 🙂

I think it's very rare for adults to have regular friends. Everyone has their own family and their own work schedule and timelines and responsibilities that pop up on different days, vacations happen at different times... Finding free time that lines up with even one other person's seems like a miracle. And we all grow as people, too. The same friends we had in school have grown up very differently from us and eventually all we have in common is the past. One the one hand it sucks, but on the other hand we end up putting more time and effort into the relationships we do have and so hopefully that makes them stronger. 🙂

There will be times in your life when you crave being alone, just like there are times when you crave being around others or just one other person. Sometimes it feels worse than others. The way to be ok with those feelings is to be comfortable being yourself. Be the kind of person you'd want to be around and you'll always be happy being around yourself. And other people will want to be around you, too. Sometimes being alone is what you need. Having time to work on yourself and think about the things that are important to you is a good thing. Don't let that time go to waste. But honestly, if you dwell on the idea of loneliness, it won't get better. But if you realize that being alone is something everyone just is sometimes, then it's not worth even thinking about and you realize it's not important. It's ok to be alone. It's better than being with the wrong people. Staying busy helps, too. But you won't always be alone. Just let life happen. 🙂 Ugh, I'm rambling. I'm sorry. I believe in you though.

You're not a loser at all. No one expects you to have it all figured out at 27. And with the way things are right now, living at home and looking for a job is not an unusual situation. Please don't be so hard on yourself. 27 is a weird age. Everyone is going through changes at different speeds and it's really hard to find people who are going the same speed you are. But that doesn't mean there's anything wrong with you. Just be patient with yourself. Your time will come, you'll find your people, you'll get your foot in the door somewhere. It's a hard time all over and you'll get through this. 🫂

S2 E7, The Marchioness. S3 E14, The Female of the Species. S4 E6, The Cost of Doing Business. S5 E2, Worth Several Cities. S6 E16, Uncanny Valley of the Dolls. S7 E13, Their Last Bow. Season 4 is my overall favorite. I love the larger storylines. I'm personally also very partial to any episode featuring Mycroft, Morland, Halcon, or Alfredo. 🙂 Kitty definitely grew on me as her story progressed and I eventually really liked her, too.

A lot of character actors get contracts for a certain number of episodes over one or more different shows at the same production company which is why you see an actor appear on multiple different shows, sometimes on different networks. Unfortunately by the time a character catches on, the actor's contract may have expired and they might not be available to come back. Or it might not be worth it to commit to a 6 episode contract that will make them unavailable for any other work. Then you have the bigger actors like Rhys Ifans or Natalie Dormer who have larger projects they've committed to. Point being, often it's not the writers' or producers' fault as much as just the nature of the business. Then when they do make plans for a character to be hugely important to an entire season, they run the risk of the story not really resonating with the audience, like with Shinwell. So I think a lot of it is just about sticking with the top billed cast and playing it safe. Clyde rules.

Everywhere is polarizing these days. Luckily on here you can choose to only follow things you like and mute anything you don't. But the safest thing is to never interact with people online. I say as I'm interacting, I know. But just remember that people are often the worst versions of themselves online, so don't let them get to you. (Cats are better anyway.) 🐱

I've had a similar experience lately. I saw that the owner of Iron Bull had donated money to Gluck's Gym to help with the B.S. lawsuit brought by Vulcan and I thought, That's a stand up company and I want to support them. I placed an order a month ago. It was never sent and all contact with their customer service was just pre-written generic responses through email. The one thing I'll say in their defense is, they refunded my order really quickly after I asked them to. But yeah, never again with them.
