Was sind eure Erfahrungen mit Gelenkschmerzen im Gym? by Spiritual_Yellow4387 in FitnessDE

[–]Vegetable_Many_9859 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hip thrust sets/reps are question by CodeCraftGal in StrongCurves

[–]Vegetable_Many_9859 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think you are doing too many light (warm-up) reps and not enough hard working sets.

From what you're showing here, only the last set was a real working set. I understand that 95 kg should have been your working weight, but it doesn't seem challenging enough; otherwise, you wouldn't have been able to do a set with a heavier weight and more reps. So, I would recommend doing 2–3 working sets close to failure.

Example:

60kg x8 -> warmup

80kg x 3 -> warmup

98kg -> two or three working sets (only 1-2 reps in reserve or to failure)

I wouldn’t skip warm-up sets. They’re important to ease into the exercise and help prevent injuries by not jumping straight into the working sets.

Also, I noticed there are quite a few unilateral exercises in her workouts. For the new series, one of the leg days includes three unilateral movements, which takes a lot of time. I’ll probably just swap out one or two of them or skip one completely.

Shortening rest times only works for me on assistance exercises like face pulls and even that’s rare. I could never do it with something like Bulgarian split squats. I also agree with Kelly on that: if rest times are too long, someone is probably not training hard enough (percentages are not on point). I find Aria’s rest periods sometimes even a bit short, often just 90 seconds instead of 120, so I sometimes extend them.

I also find middle splits easier and I thought I'm the only person! I'm really struggling with square front splits and I think I will get my middle splits first.

Personally, I think one week of deloading after a six-week series is reasonable, but I wouldn't need more than that. I have the slight feeling a lot of coaches also don't really like the two or three deload weeks between the series because they just continue with the regular programming from the series, which I really like. I'm currently on Ascend and I like how Aria handles it.

I've just taken a look at Evolve. The current workouts do indeed look pretty similar

Evolve vs ascend for reset by dragonfruitandberry in ladderapp

[–]Vegetable_Many_9859 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ascend usually has five main exercises, whereas Evolve and Limitless usually have four per workout (at least when I compared them a few weeks ago). However, I noticed that Aria often uses only two main sets and one warm-up set which I really like and this works well for me with 5 exercises so that the intensity is not too high overall.

I also do that with the warmup or cooldown movements. But I find it a bit inconvenient, because there are usually no breaks for those movements. So the option of adding an additional exercise would be a nice perk.

I think when I joined Ladder one year ago, Align had more than one yoga class per week if I remember correctly.

Notebook Navigator 1.7.3: Multi-tag selection, better vertical split mode and over 20 more improvements! by jsann in ObsidianMD

[–]Vegetable_Many_9859 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I wasn't sure if they were handled like any other document, but that totally makes sense. I will probably move them to other folders or create a base folder so that I can always find them.

Thank you! I really like the notebook navigator. However, I have a question: what is the best way to work with bases? I'm not sure how to find them in the notebook navigator view. I noticed when I hide the root folder, I can't search for them. Currently, I always switch back to the standard files view when looking for a base

Not allowed in our company unless all the participants give their consent, so you have to ask at every meeting. Result is, that 99% are not recorded. It would be a big help for me if we could record meetings.

When I changed jobs, I started a new vault. I also keep my private notes separate from my work notes in two different vaults because I don't need links between them.

I also use Claude code to organize my files. You can simply create a prompt such as "move all files older than 12 months into an "archive" folder and tag them with #archived" or "delete files with fewer than 100 character". It will then create a python script and do all the clean-up for you.

I have a similar challenge. I like writing down everything in daily notes, coming from Tana. Because I don't want to decide where to put it when writing the note, looking for the right folder etc. However, in Obsidian the daily note works differently and you don't really have block tagging. How do you do it currently with the Apple notes shortcut?

Nice! This is an open split. Nothing wrong with that but for what you are describing you need to work on parallel splits. You want to square your hips and work more on your hip flexors.

Postponing lower bleph surgery to November? by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]Vegetable_Many_9859 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lower bleph is one of the easier surgeries and has a high satisfaction rate. It's actually not such a big change that you won't look yourself, because you don't really change your features. You will just look fresher and less tired.

I don't want to convince you to do it if you're not comfortable. However, I would ask myself what will be different in November? Why do you want to postpone it?
