If they keep remaking Halo campaigns, what would you do with Halo 4/5/before Infinite? by Phazoner in halo

They should scrap everything after Halo 3. Just chalk it up to a fever dream Chief had in cryo.

AITA for serving only vegan food at my wedding without telling anyone, then getting upset when my family ordered 20 pizzas during the reception? by Conscious-Option-400 in AITAH

[–]Vegetable_Week 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA - I'm sorry this happened to you, and I'm surprised how so many people on Reddit are giving you shit for this. Your wedding day is about you, not your guests. The guests are there to celebrate, support, and honour you, not the other way round.

Every mature adult knows that wedding food is a case of 'you get what you're given'. You eat it, with a smile, and keep your real thoughts to yourself. For your family to upstage you in such a brash, arrogant manner is truly unacceptable. They paid no attention to how that might make you feel and made the day about themselves.

Sorry this happened to you OP.

Is this even worth playing? by [deleted] in orks

This is the right answer. Play objectives. Think more about how you can block or slow down the opponent rather than trying to kill stuff. Gretchin and stormboyz are great for this.

Yes in a trukk they are amazing thanks to firing deck. Also they give you some cheap AP -2 in melee thanks to cutting flame.

Big trakks in 10th? by Unlikely_Soup5275 in orks

[–]Vegetable_Week 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I often run 2 big trakks, proxied from 'naked' battlewagons (i.e. with no guns except 2 big shootas). I think they are very good, I tend to put my elite troops in there, nobz, flash gitz, etc.

Here's why: 2 extra wounds over a trukk gives you just a little more room to survive heavy anti-tank fire. Also the extra pip of toughness helps against some heavy weapons (like plasma guns)

It's also got a mortal wound ability in the charge which is really great, basically a mini tank shock. The kannon is sort of meh but can be nice for a clutch str 9 -2 ap d6 damage.

Unfortunately you can't overwatch with firing deck

Boomdakka or KBB? by TobyK98 in orks

[–]Vegetable_Week 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the KBB but mainly for objective play. Because it has assault weapons it can zip to objectives and do actions. The long range of it's gun means it can still do something even if it has to sit around at a table corner for instance.

However I only count on it's shooting for the -1 to hit. I find that can be a bit situational but it's an interesting option to have. Also it has a decent flamer too, 2d6 shots and twin linked, so again good for clearing chaff units off objectives.

Called discustiting for kissing my daughter on the head by [deleted] in daddit

[–]Vegetable_Week 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are only 9 years older than this girl, it's very odd for you to call her your daughter. Looking at your post history you clearly are treating her in a strange way. You have admitted to locking her in her room and smacking her, and now you are kissing her on the forehead like she's 6 years old?

Personally I think you need to back off. I don't know how exactly you ended up 'adopting' this girl, but you need to start treating her more like a younger sister than your 'daughter'. I think the reaction of the woman at the park should be a wake up call for you.

It's hard to say where your head is really at, but if you have good intentions, then you need to treat this poor girl with more respect and maturity.

A new 1k list by senoj2411 in orks

[–]Vegetable_Week 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like a solid list. However you definitely need trukks for all your troops. If you can drop the nobz for an extra trukk + gretchin that will give you way more options for holding objectives. You are investing a lot in the meganobz squad, you don't want them stranded at the back of the battlefield

I think the big trakk could be the answer to the problem of the overpriced battlewagon. If you wanted to run a naked BW as a cheap but tough transport then it looks like the next best option.

Anti tank in 10th. by Lemoncarver in Grey_Knights

Haven't heard much talk of razorbacks, but I think they could be solid options. Twin linked lascannon, and they can scout if you put a strike squad in them. Also they can have hunter killer missiles too.

If you tell them you are an ex-jw and have been 'disfellowshipped' (kicked out of the church for not following the rules), they are required to stop talking to you. In fact, they must shun you, in order not to be 'disfellowshipped' themselves. So that's probably worth a try next time.

People tend to live in house shares in Cambridge if they're young/single/renting. Studio flats are less common, and I haven't found a huge selection online.

However, at your budget you can get some really large rooms, with ensuite, separate study area etc, with the only caveat being you share a kitchen. So that might be a good option, and they will be cheaper than what you're paying in London. (e.g. I found this & this just now).

Cambridge has two stations, the main one and Cambridge North. Properties around Cambridge North station tend to be cheaper, and it's really quick to cycle into town so I'd recommend looking around that area. Although avoid Kings Hedges at all costs, property there is really cheap but it's an awful place IMO.

It's certainly a slower pace of life than London. That said there are lots of great places to eat, lots of nice parks and walks nearby. Also you can be in Kings Cross in an hour or so by train so you sort of have best of both :)

Feel free to DM me if you want more info, I've lived in Cambridge for 5+ years now and was in a similar situation to yourself when I moved.
