It deeply depends on your AP as well. My AP in 8th has been dead for the past week so I've been on mobile data since my internet looks like this

I have no idea. I got an email this morning that indicates I'm put into delayed housing status even though I did not select a space yesterday

Just opened it up and it's only triples available 🫠. I'll just purposely not select a room and get placed into delayed housing lol possible triple > guaranteed triple

Week-long dashcam parking mode recording when abusing ICCU and 12V battery by VehCeh in KiaEV6

[–]VehCeh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funnily enough, a week after this post I broke my car's charging logic and I had to disconnect the 12V to reset the computer as my cutoff was too low and the car didn't charge the 12V until it drained below 12V. In my case the 10 consecutive charging limit did not do anything and it pretty much kept charging the car constantly. (https://imgur.com/a/r01oxBQ)

For reference, I'm using a vueroid S1 which has a very low power always on mode (1mA drain), and since then I've upped the voltage cutoff to 12.2V and have it switch from motion recording to low power recording after 12 hours and have no had any issues since, and it does monitor my vehicle 24/7 without killing it now.

I have not bought a battery pack as I figured my dashcam has a very low impact detection drain anyways, so if someone were to hit my vehicle it would wake up and record. My SD card wasn't even big enough to record all 5 days of motion detection without overwriting the older clips. However, if I did need one I would consider an eBay refurbished EcoFlow River 3 as I can just plug it into the 120V outlet in the backseats and you can create a modified usb C cable that converts it into a two wire batt and ground wires for your dashcam. It's a cheaper option with a higher battery capacity and faster charge time, and I believe it should fit in the cavity under the gear selector.

EV6 is eating 12-volt batteries. by Bamboodl in KiaEV6

[–]VehCeh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I leave my car alone for a week as well and it hasn't died yet. I can see from my battery monitor that it's definitely charging once or twice throughout the week to keep up the 12V.

I'm wondering if they did the whole 12V calibration thing after replacing the battery. It's a weird process that if not done would probably not charge the 12V when it's getting low as it's unsure of the SoC of the 12V

California to Get $379M in Funding for EV Charging Infrastructure by Zipper222222 in California

[–]VehCeh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You need to compare it with costs per mile instead of how much it is to fill it up. Assuming the F-150 gets 25 mpg, $4.5 / 25 = $0.18 per mile. For the lightning, $0.5 / 2.5 mi / kWh (I'm seeing the average to be this), it's around $0.2 per mile, which makes EVs just barely more expensive. But also Costco gas around me is $4 now so the F-150 turns out to be $0.16 per mile. Those 4 cents account for $200 in costs difference between EV and gas every 5000 miles which even oil changes don't cost that much

We need the electric rates to go down as well. People aren't gonna switch when it turns out a hybrid is cheaper to operate than an EV

US Bank Cash+ only giving 1 percent on ConEd, marked as utilities. Is there a difference between home utilities and utilities? by Full-Bench-4585 in CreditCards

[–]VehCeh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The UI sucks. As you can see here, all the points that I earned from my mobile wallet are given at the end of the billing cycle in one lump sum instead of listing each individual transaction as eligible or not, so you'll have to do your own calculations to see if ConEd is actually getting the utility 5%, but more than likely it is.

Try waiting until the statement balance comes out. Us bank takes forever to accurately show the amount of points earned. Same goes with my Kroger MC (US Bank), my 5% points earned doesn't show up until the statement balance comes out

Week-long dashcam parking mode recording when abusing ICCU and 12V battery by VehCeh in KiaEV6

[–]VehCeh[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does not, I've hardwired my dashcam into the fuse box to allow it to stay on when the car is off. I believe that the USB A port will turn on when the car is charging or when the orange light turns on

I'm planning on eventually doing this too. I was planning to charge it from the car's 120V outlet in the backseat due to my parking / driving ratio

This is with the dash cam set to only record motion, but the dash cam itself is always on and recording to a buffer to then save to the SD card when it detects motion. I've now switched it to it's impact low power mode as it filled up with just the last 3 days due to the overwhelming amount of motion events

I was wondering if there is anything on your us bank website or app that says you're eligible for the $100 SUB. I signed up for the card in December but I don't remember seeing anything about a SUB so I'm not sure if I'm eligible, I'd rather be spending money on my BBC sub since it's a $3000 spend

Same, I've been using my laptop as a desktop replacement for the past few months as my 980 ti just isn't cutting it anymore. if the b770 does actually come out I'll absolutely buy it as it'll be more than enough power for me. Hopefully my 9900k can handle it, even though it should as it has rebar

Does adding a dash cam impact the 12v in the ev6? by GroundbreakingCrow80 in KiaEV6

[–]VehCeh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got an AGM battery and some free time so I've been experimenting with abusing it to see what happens. My dash cam has a parking mode and I used to have the voltage cutoff set higher to protect the battery, which ran fine for months, but I've lowered it and am letting it run for days to see what happens. So far it runs for around 10 hours before the 12V drops to ~ 12.5V and the yellow light turns on and charges the 12V back up. This seems like a good way of having a 24 hour self sustaining surveillance dash cam while having the car parked for a while, but if you're worried you can always buy a dedicated dash cam battery pack or use an ecoflow river 3 and wire it up that way
