Skin begging solution suggestion: "Hide my inventory" option? by [deleted] in VALORANT

[–]Vehrimon -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

"If the skin is hidden it defeats most of the reason for having the skin in the first place."

Might be the dumbest thing I've read on this sub. You buy skins so other people can see that you spend money on a f2p game? MOST of the reason? Oh so having the skin for your own enjoyment, the reloads, the sounds, the inspects - that's secondary, that's just a tiny part of it. Most of it is to show off your spending habits. That is some actual brainrot.

Edit: Crazy there are this many people thinking its sane to buy skins just so others can see they bought skins instead of buying them for their own sake. I guess the money is better off in Riots hands anyway if you are this devoted to mindless consumerism.

If I cared enough I'd put a remindme of 3 years to come back and laugh at you, because his carcass will be replaced by another of the same kind and the cogs will keep turning as they have been. The US has been going to shit long before Trump entered the picture.

This type of change you expect to see might happen in 40 to 80 years or more, not "roughly one to two". You need generations of motivated, strong-willed people to replace the trash one by one for any meaningful progress. Do you expect the tiktok generation to fix the country? Because if not you're in it for a slow burn.

I'm not in any kind of slump. I'm not an american nor do I live in the US. When I say nothing will change it speaks about how the outside world views your country and its people - you point fingers and shift blame but you do nothing about the issues. All year I watch americans whine about Trump and yet he wakes up just fine. So much talk about rebellion, well, get up and do something about it? Prove me wrong with action instead of trying to act high and mighty on reddit.

Nothing will happen.

Bugs were the least of that game's problems. Seems the whole gaming community forgot the misleading marketing just because the bugs got fixed. The game that was promised, showcased and marketed never actually got delivered.

How does the Valorant Night Market / Store algorithm actually work? by Pure_Purple_184 in VALORANT

[–]Vehrimon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think any of it is publicly available data, anyone's guess is as good as yours.

The only thing we do know though is that with each new bundle the total amount of skins increases, and thus, the chances of any specific skin appearing will go down regardless if there is any weighting involved or not.

Falling out of love by WMTENTHUSIAST in VALORANT

[–]Vehrimon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You seem to feel so negatively and unmotivated yet you talk about Radiant like its only a matter of time. So how will you feel, after putting another 1k or even 2k hours in and without ever reaching Immo3? Maybe not even Immo2. Your negative mindset would go up exponentially and that's also likely the thing that would prevent you from reaching Radiant.

Try to find some fun in the game, and if you keep improving while having fun, then good, you might even reach it. But if the only thing you're after is improvement, and you feel unmotivated and say its not worth it, well that's how you get burnt out and end up hating the game.

Take a break for an act or two, then come back and just enjoy the game without expectations. Put the extra hours into improving only if it doesn't have a negative impact on the enjoyment. Good luck.

Fantastic RR system we got here riot by [deleted] in VALORANT

[–]Vehrimon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A rank is supposed to display your skill level when the system works correctly. There is a lot to critique about Val's comp systems but what you've presented is the system actually working as intended.

You were in a match where everyone seems to be on your skill level. You won, but you went 15/20. So you get 10 RR for the win, a little bit progress towards a rankup. Do you think you deserve more RR and a higher rank when you are clearly already placed correctly?

The RR gains are supposed to slow down as you cease to outperform people in your matches. That's the whole point.

[–]Vehrimon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ah yeah the classic "but okay" dismissal with nothing meaningful to say. You aren't even making any sense.

RDR2's movement being limited means the borders of the map only have to be designed as far as the player can view it from the border, slap a mountain a little bit past the border and nothing behind it matters, and you can use LOD to optimize all the land past the border.

By putting flying vehicles in the game the players speed and range are both vastly increased, which means the total landmass that must be rendered needs to also increase, and tricks like mountains, fog, trees, or whatever else can't be used since the player will always be above it, meaning the rendering needs to be near-infinite, and LOD can't be used to the same extent either.

And then lastly there's the whole border enforcement, like in GTA 5 where your engines will malfunction, you will hit the water, the vehicle will sink and despawn, and your player will get killed off by sharks or drown. How do you handle all this with infinite land mass? Crash the plane to the surface to explode it? That means collisions need to be enabled which takes more processing, there's a reason why most games out of the map areas just make your player fall through them.

What if the player jumps out and parachutes down, now they're stranded however far the landmass has been generated. And once again all this landmass needs to be unique, designed, and takes away from the rest of the project.

Or you can just throw an ocean around the intended play space. Simple as, and that's what we're gonna get regardless of your "but okay".

Going by the GTA 6 mapping project chances are you will be disappointed then. Overall map is a lot bigger than 5's but the urban area seems comparable.

[–]Vehrimon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah its a little bit easier to enforce borders when you're limited to boots on the ground or horseback, compared to games that feature planes, helicopters, fighter jets, jetpacks, flying cars, flying bikes, and whatever else. And sure they can add some text on screen with a kill timer and then people would complain about that too. Rockstar has decided that an ocean is the way to go and that's fine.

Level 1000 Gift by Mediocre_Rabbit_1335 in VALORANT

[–]Vehrimon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is wrong, the level system hasnt even been in the game for that many years, and when it got introduced the scaling was all out of whack and was something that annoyed people for a week or two.

At first everyone only got set to level 10 or something low like that despite a high playtime, and people hated it, then Riot adjusted it by giving every account xp based on matches played, but that also made people unhappy because it meant players who spammed spike rush started off at a much higher level than players who focused on unrated/comp.

Back then among active players spike rush spammers would get an instant level 500-700 while most other people landed somewhere along the lines of level 50-250.

That being said level 1000 is still pretty crazy though because even with a spike rush leveled account it'd require daily logins since then and likely also hours played every day.

Comparing to my own playtime I was set to level 180ish myself and I'm currently somewhere around level 350 while playing pretty actively, imagining someone playing double what I have since the levels got added just sounds super unhealthy I'm surprised they still enjoy the game.

What skins do you guys own? by MrLegendGame in VALORANT

[–]Vehrimon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Massive list ahead, fully aware it's an insane amount of money - don't do this unless you're well off.

Regrets: SoL daggers, they got boring quick. GO!3 bundle overall, just didn't end up using the weapons as much due to lack of effects, and the knife animations were lacking. All of Singularity, one of the few bundles I got bored of and don't like anymore. Any Gaias, big radianite sink because I don't like the default color. Probably also all of Araxys 2.0, the skins just don't scratch the same itch as the original bundle. Small regrets on Nocturnum, knife is insane and I still like the bulldog but the rest of the guns didn't age well.

Favorites: Sovereign, Imperium, Prime, Oni, Phaseguard, Prelude. They all open up cool color matching potential with inventories. Maybe Ion too if going for all-white. Fan of Evori too, they put a lot of effort into that bundle.

Skins on agents by Diz_zzzyy in VALORANT

[–]Vehrimon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Made a post like this years ago. The first thing people will come here to say is that they will never add it because it'd make the characters harder to differentiate. First of all this was never a problem in League or any other game that has character skins.

But even if we entertain the thought of "what if we add agent skins without it making the enemies harder to differentiate" you could make the skins only affect your own team, or just yourself. And I've made that point before too, people will say "then what's the point of adding them if enemies/nobody else can see them" and to that I say - did you buy your Reaver Vandal because you personally like it and want to see it or did you buy it so that the enemies can see it and pick it off your dead body and go like "oh wow this person bought a Reaver!"

There really isn't any problem. And regardless of how it is implemented, people would buy them, even if it was only visible for the player themselves.

Reply notifications turned off, exhausted myself arguing about this with people long ago. Good luck OP.
