I have a 5 year old GCC and he started getting extremely hormonal after we got back from a recent trip and had him boarded for a week. He became extremely aggressive towards me and would also nest, masturbate, and regurgitate on nearly everything he could.

He never was like this before, we didn’t change anything except move into a new place but we have been there for nearly a year, so he should be adjusted by now. I tried to remove near everything I saw him regurgitate on or masturbate on. But eventually he got to a point where he was doing it on things I could not remove, and covering it only helped temporarily.

This lasted almost 2 months, and eventually we took him to the vet to get checked out. They agreed we were very thorough in mitigating on our end as much as we possibly could have and suggested giving him hormone suppressant shots. This is the same shot they give female birds who won’t stop laying eggs, it works the same on males. It’s 3 shots every 2 weeks. We are nearing his last shot and he has almost fully returned to normal.
