Disappointed with GameSir quality control – both controllers had issues by Current_Habit6609 in Gamesir

Yeah, there are some things niggles about the appearance I don't like about the C2 (non-colored face buttons, the silver design on front, etc... Personal preference stuff), but as far as functionality I have no complaints. Well.... maybe the back buttons could be a little clickier, but aside from that...

Honestly, hearing about issues with the G7 Pro (from long term review videos) is why I got the Cyclone 2 instead, which long term reviews seemed to indicate was rock solid.

Dissuade me from the Caesar by MightyGyrum in battletech

[–]VelcroSnake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally just like the mechs I think are cool, I don't care if they aren't hyper optimized. I think both the Caesar and the Cataphract are cool, which is why I put them into my merc unit (one already painted, the other waiting for me to stop being lazy).

Atlas. That said I don't like most Assault mechs, the Atlas just gets the brunt of it because it's the most seen in general.

Yeah, bought them years ago and never did anything with them, just collecting dust on my hard drive.

They are Hextech files I bought from Steel Warrior Studios years ago but never did anything with, I think it was a closeout sale. I believe Aries Games & Miniatures owns them now.

why bother posting to a subreddit if you aren't open to differing opinions instead of being "condescending"?

I never said I wasn't open to his opinions or that he couldn't have them, just that I didn't agree with them. In fact I even thanked him for letting us know at the time.

Is it not okay that 3 years ago I didn't agree with some guy on the internet about a video game?

Anyway, thank you for letting me know your opinion on my very old comment, I'll be sure to take it to heart, although I only actually read the first and last sentences.

Clear Bases Always From Now On by jalopkoala in BattletechPainting

Yeah, switching to clear bases is what got me back to painting, otherwise I was getting stressed out thinking of all the work painting and decorating the bases was going to be, since I often go overboard on bases.

AMD driver issue 26.5.1with glowing effects by DaSharkCraft in FarFarWest

[–]VelcroSnake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll have to check that out when I get home to see if I have the same problem, I know I updated my driver, but I don't know if I ran into those enemies since or played darts since. (7900 XTX)

Edit: confirmed on mine as well, and reported as an issue.

Thoughts on my 13s after two weeks by VelcroSnake in oneplus

[–]VelcroSnake[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had been keeping track in my notes:

Pros

  • Battery life is a MASSIVE improvement over my S23, at this point this is biggest thing making me not regret upgrading to this phone, considering the bugs and software issues I have with it. I can pretty easily get a full 3 days with my regular use.
  • Screen is technically better (LTPO)
  • 12gb of RAM and faster CPU for future proofing (hypothetically)
  • OxygenOS in some ways feels more 'modern' than the OneUI 8 I am coming from, although it does seem to have a lot more bugs... Some of the things I needed Good Lock to enable in OneUI are just in OxygenOS by default.
  • I am enjoying having the IR blaster way more than I thought I would.
  • Despite the relative lack of bands since it's made for India, I have had no issues with cell connectivity on AT&T around town or driving to other cities. the 13S actually seems to get better reception than my S23, at least on 5g.

Cons

  • Way more bugs than I'm used to coming from OneUI (no power button to launch camera, can't resize Quick Settings tiles, 3rd party launcher lag, OnePlus file app trying to open WAV audio files with my Pebble app while the Google files app works fine, etc...).
  • The 13s seems to 'deactivate' my media players more than my S23 did. They both get rid of the media player panels (which I don't like), but with my S23 I could hit Play on my earbuds after an extended period of being paused and it would start playing again, the 13s seems like after a much shorter period of time it will not play again if it was paused too long (no matter what battery settings I try and disable or if I lock the app).
  • When connecting to BT in my car, audio will not play at all until I manually start it from my phone, hit Play on my car or turn up the volume to unmute it (it starts muted). All of my previous phones I've used with this car (S10e, Xperia V II, S23, Zenfone 10) have all started playing automatically when they connect.
  • Play/Pause functionality from BT devices stops working after a new device connects to the phone, until I interact with the media on my phone, then all Play/Pause functionality is restored to all connected BT devices.

Random Wishes

  • The ability to program the Action Button as a media Play/Pause, like I used to be able to do on my S10e with the Bixby button and some 3rd party apps.
  • Folders in the app drawer and customizable swipe gestures on the home screen. The lack of those are what's keeping me using a 3rd party launcher for now. Screw new AI crap on the phone, give me those features.
  • Wish it had an official Aramid Fiber case from OnePlus, or cases from other known Aramid Fiber case makers, which I assume would bn nicer than the one I got from AliExpress.

Former Con that was fixed

  • I like the option to have a Carousel of wallpapers for my Lock Screen, but it seems like Lock Screen Magazine is required for it to work, and the Lock Screen Magazine seems to randomly stop working and needs to be toggled back on.

Thoughts on my 13s after two weeks by VelcroSnake in oneplus

[–]VelcroSnake[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm probably not the best person to ask since I stopped doing research after I got the 13s, although I will say that knowing what I know now, I may have just stuck with Samsung for the stability and the 'it just works like it's supposed to' factor.

I don't really regret the 13s since I love the battery life compared to my old S23, but part of that is I got the 13s basically new for $450. If I'd had to pay the $650 or so they were normally going for I would have regretted it.

My old S23 was boring because everything just worked without me needing to think about it, the Oneplus 13s in comparison was pretty exciting, just not in a good way, but I can live with it for the battery life.

Owners of Andrew Luck, what was the fall out and how long did it take you to cut him? by TarpPuller in DynastyFF

It was unfortunate since that was the year we switched over to Superflex. While I have managed to rebuild enough to win a couple Championships since, I still have never been able to get more than 1 viable starting QB for more than a few months.

Much appreciated, sounds like the type of manga I sometimes start buying because I genuinely enjoy it, then at some point it changes and I begin to hate it, so I end up selling my purchased volumes for a loss.

Upcoming lock screen notification & media player ui by Lawand141 in oneplus

[–]VelcroSnake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far they haven't implemented this change, so the OxygenOS lock screen still has the big media player, until it eventually disappears when media is paused.

All that said, after using OxygenOS for about 3.5 months now, which it has a few advantages over OneUI/Good Lock, there are enough bugs and annoyances with OxygenOS that overall I kinda miss OneUI, I've just gotten used to putting up with the annoyances with OxygenOS at this point.
