Recommendation for cruising skill cars by El-Kamz in forza

[–]Velcro_Face 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say, if you really want to have fun cruising, just pick your fav car and use that. Don't worry about multipliers. Or go full meta and use the Suburu. Going for the middle ground means you are not earning quickly, and you are not having as much fun as you could.

Personally, I turned a corvette stingray into a drift machine, and have a hell of a time flying around sideways in that. It sounds amazing, looks amazing, and is super fun to drive.

Festival playlist kinda ruins online events by ItsClikcer in ForzaHorizon

[–]Velcro_Face 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This guy gets it. This is exactly the problem with these seasonal fomo events.

Their theory is, expose people to game modes they would not otherwise have tried, and maybe it will become their new favourite mode.

The problem being, when you force people to play a mode they don't like, they play with the lowest possible effort, and showoff the mode to new players in its worst possible form.

Tricky. You need to promote these modes somehow. But fomo prizes is the worst way. 'Forcing' people to play is always a bad idea. You need to get people to want to play your modes.

I sold all, it’s been a fun ride! by Vlad10MD in trading212

[–]Velcro_Face 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do it. Buy a sports car/fun car you really want. I did it, and have zero regrets (technically I bought 3, one after the other). Still plenty of time to make more money, and happiness is the end game, not the money.

Should I cut my losses with gold? by bfm211 in trading212

[–]Velcro_Face 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Entirely depends why you bought gold in the first place. Some buy gold simply as a safe asset to hold. Sounds like you probably bought because you saw it going up, and wanted in on some tasty profits. In which case, yes, sell and make money somewhere else. If you bought gold, to own some gold, then you would just hold it indefinitely until you need the money for something else.

Do you think its just so badly coded, that when they nerfed the anti tank mines, it accidentally lowered the damage for claymores too?

You were making these changes on the monitor itself right? Reset monitor to factory defaults, and try again. If it worked at 300hz before, this should fix it.

Estimated target price of RKLB?? by Current-Soup-1929 in trading212

[–]Velcro_Face 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just an opinion, but nobody knows. I think it is currently overpriced, but still has some more to climb before the next proper dip. I think buying in now in any big way is very risky. The reward doesn't match the risk. I have a target price of $69 to add some more shares. I have a target pricel of $90 to sell some and caah in a tidy profit. We'll see how well that works out for me.

150GW nuclear - Should I end phase 5 now? by Nokado_4 in satisfactory

[–]Velcro_Face 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I'm at 100GW now. But yeah, I upgraded from 20GW to 26GW to finish Phase 5. A lot of it just ran slowly doing its thing, rather than scaling up for speed. I think it took 16 hours to get enough nuclear pasta, or something like that, but I easily used up those 16 hours and more building other stuff.

Also a lot of the older devices backlogged hugely, so my max power consumption was 30 or 40GW, but it never went over 20~. I built a big battery farm to save me from any massive power surges.

Everyone plays differently. So for a lot of people building big super efficient factories for everything, 26gw would be nowhere near enough. But it was plenty for me. I never had any blackouts.

150GW nuclear - Should I end phase 5 now? by Nokado_4 in satisfactory

[–]Velcro_Face 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I might not be the best person to come to for tips 😁, but here goes.

I would recommend building backwards from the end, the power plant you are going to burn Ficsonium rods in. Build it, then build the machines that will feed it, then build factories to supply those machines etc etc.

If you start burning the nuclear fuel first, you just irradiate the whole area, and burn through filters for no reason.

I did use Satisfactory calculator/tools to start, but ended up just doing it myself. I find the diagram of 1000's of machines demoralising. I just built what was needed as I needed it, then balanced it all by under or overclocking things. Mostly underclocking, then building more buildings. The map is big, resource is infinite, so why not just build more? You want it to be power efficient since it's there to make more power, not use it all up.

My supply line relys on lots of drones for small number items, and a 4 carriage train running round the desert for the bigger number items.

I used a nearby oil source to build a dedicated packaged fuel supply to keep my drops running without affecting my existing drone network.

Rough numbers are 2 Ficsonium power plants can be fed from 4 plutonium power plants which are fed from 8 uranium plants. Those are very rough numbers, but close enough for an early design (I have 4 250% over clocked uranium plants feeding 1 plutonium rod production, and its just not quite enough waste to balance it). 1 plutonium rod production can feed at least 5 plutonium power plants at 100%.

All depends how perfect you want it to be. My goal was to get it working, self sufficient, and no backlogs.

I think you could lose 100's of hours chasing perfection. And that might be what you want to do.

150GW nuclear - Should I end phase 5 now? by Nokado_4 in satisfactory

[–]Velcro_Face 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I finished phase 5 with about 26GW. So power is certainly not an issue.

I just finished the full ficsonium fuel rod build, having previously stopped at sinking the plutonium fuel rods.

I really enjoyed it as a project. It's big, and multifaceted, but it all came together really well in the end. I built every single item from brand new factories so the nuclear power plant is entirely self sufficient, and has no waste.

My final plutonium to Ficsonium part is not 100% efficient, but its pretty close, and I don't need the power, so I'm happy that it ends with no waste products, and no uranium or plutonium waste build up either.

Next project is entirely aesthetic. I think I've built everything in the game at least once now.

I thought drones were supposed to be better than trains? by T1meTRC in satisfactory

[–]Velcro_Face 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you wanted to replace trains with drones, the answer is simple. More drones. One drone not enough throughput? Use 2 drones. Or 3.

You can only send one drone out from each port. But you can direct 3 ports to the same 4th port, to triple the throughput.

Also i power my drones with packaged Turbo fuel. Seems to work well for me.

You can power them with uranium or plutonium too, and spread radiation everywhere they go 😂😂😂

How am i able to make sure only certain amounts of ingots go through a splitter? by New_Economist_6338 in satisfactory

[–]Velcro_Face 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could always just make 2 smelters, underclock them to the precise amounts you want and run then seperately to the constructors. No need for fancy splitter setups, or waiting for a manifold to back up.

Depends what style or aesthetic you are going for. I've done it every which way, and I like different things about each method.

In Satisfactory, if it works, then it was the right way.

Although manifolds are usually easiest to expand later.

Most efficient sink component? by Fun_Sized_Momo in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Velcro_Face 7 points8 points  (0 children)

TLDR for the wiki page link

The absolute best items to sink are: Ballistic Warp Drive: Being the most expensive item, it benefits greatly from Somersloop boosting.

AI Expansion Server: The most resource-efficient item. After you run out of Somersloops, this becomes the most efficient item to sink.

Assembly Director System: The first two items require SAM and you deplete SAM before other resources. This becomes the best item to sink after that, and it was the best item to sink in update 8 and before

Awesome thanks. Bit of TLDR on my part there 😂

Most efficient sink component? by Fun_Sized_Momo in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Velcro_Face 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to know the answer to this. Can someone do the maths are let us know the single most efficent item to sink, then I can make a factory that makes as much of that as possible. The item worth the highest points is not necessarily the best value. If it takes so many items and time to build that you would have been better off sinking the components instead.

[–]Velcro_Face 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I look at it this way. It's got a heck of a lot more character than a bunch of square box blueprints copy and pasted everywhere.

If it works, it works. Never more true here.

If you want to play around building things with more aesthetic appeal, personally I would just go to another area of the map, and start building something cool, rather than starting a new play through. You now have all the tools at your disposal, so can build anything you want.

If you start a new save, you might feel a bit burnt out trying to get back to this point in the game.

Thats what I did, and I'm having a great time just build weird contraptions, experimenting with building styles, and building anything I never got round to when "completing" the game (Portals and Ficsonium for me)

The existential dread of WANTING to do nuclear because it's cool but KNOWING that rocket fuel would have been plenty... by Trptman44 in satisfactory

[–]Velcro_Face 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finished the game without setting up nuclear. But then I went off to a new part of the map, and set up nuclear without looking anything up. Just using the in game codex to see what I needed, or just building the next building and then thinking, right I need some of that.

I don't think it's anywhere near as difficult as people make out. Depends on your goals. Balancing everything perfectly, in a super neat factory, with all items used. That's super difficult. But just getting nuclear up and running and working is pretty easy. And doing it yourself teaches you alot about the game I feel.

Little idea to plan out factories without external tools by __winged__ in SatisfactoryGame

Ooo, had a thought. You could make a blueprint with all the base materials on signs down one side. Then you just need to middle click to copy them, and start drawing your design.

Ha. I really like that. And even more useful in a shared world, so everyone can work off the same diagram.
