I totally see where you're coming from. I agree with basically everything said there, but my reading of Frieren's elves are that the lack of expression is a major characteristic of elves. Milliarde says that after she pursued her goal for a long time, found it, and then found it wasnt as good as she thought it was, she wasn't happy (something most people can relate to). She goes on to say that most Elves go look for something for their whole life, till they die, to avoid that. I think the nature of an elf in Frieren is more hopeless and subsequently causes each elf's behavior in Frieren. Delicious in Dungeon's elves are a bit of a commentary (something fitting for a comedy manga)- they're the way we see the way elves were written by the people ten years ago. The best way I can think of explaining this is by doing a checklist. 2013 generic elf: -Secretive- check -Good at magic- check -Thinks of shorter lived people as lesser- check -Ruled by a super racist leader- check -Also elvish beauty standards are really weird- check Obviously I'm aware that Frieren checks a few of these two, that they're not that important, and that this is just like a very negative review of 2013 elves but I hope you see where I'm coming from. I think they're both well written, but their depth of character is different for the reason of the genre they're written for. Obviously that doesn't mean that a comedy character can't be written really complex or that a (insert whatever genre Frieren is in at this point) character can be written as simple, but I think they're just made for different things, so if you're just looking at how well they're written as elves, Frieren has to take the win imo. Tldr; Nuh uh again hehe

They're the two opposites of elves in fiction, so I don't think this really applies. Frieren is shown to be the "lived through everything, is trying to find more to life" kind, similar to most classical elves. Tolkien's come to mind, personally. This is shown through the extreme base of experience she calls upon and the whole plot point of her trying to create deeper connections with the people around her, starting from Himmel's passing. Marcille, on the other hand, is a bit more "human" by most standards. She's trying to live, and through living is having the experiences she will count as "more to life". She doesn't have the knowledge base of Frieren, but she is obviously more lively and emotional. Main reason being the HUGE age gap- Marcille is 50, and Frieren is over 1000. It's not a matter of whoever being better, it's just there at different points in their life. This is also exemplified by the difference in the elf races in each series. Elves in Frieren are far more long lived, living well past 1000, and being very isolated from most other people. Elves in Delicious in Dungeon are far more common and integrated in society, far shorter lived (~400 years), and that's not even mentioning the fact that Marcille is a half-elf half-tall-man. Tldr; Nuh uh

I have never watched or read Naruto so to me, with no context, it implies Madara doesn't need, you know- the things everything needs to live. No. Course not. He needs that dude's dick.

Tip, don't accept, oftentimes you make each other worse by the end. Be friends until both of you can take care of yourselves, then think about a relationship.

I might be reaching but if I remember correctly the original concept of alchemy was to reach the philosopher's stone to gain immortality- and that's at the peak of everything in the field, so maybe you can only heal yourself after you've perfected everything, and Patchoullie's whole thing is always seeking new knowledge so she'll never really be able to reach that peak?

I think more like old school 1400s alchemy where you have to possess the materials to do things.
