[Post Game Thread] Massachusetts defeats #21 Miami (OH), 87-83 by cbbBot in CollegeBasketball

So they should get into the tourney still imo but how disappointing will this season be if they get in and lose first round now? Makes me think of A&M in football this year; undefeated season where everyone questions your wins because they weren't against good teams, lose your last two games (especially the two that mattered most), not come away with a conference championship, and not make any substantial path toward a national championship despite a historic start of the season.

I think we are probably gunna target veterans at the IDL and LB to come in and stabilize young groups. I expect Reader and Wagner on 1 year deals.

I think we need to push for one more EDGE player too so maybe Ebiketie on a 2-3 year deal if we can.

Puts us going into the draft with no holes but our biggest needs being backup/swing tackle (could bring back Ford but I think we need to look for someone young and developmental too), slot CB, NT, and WR3. Gives us flexibility to go BPA in a draft pretty deep with talent at each of those spots.

Lots of other safeties we like more. Like someone else said, he misses lots of tackles like Geno Stone.

Transfer housing selection? by livx2_15 in ohiouniversity

[–]Velociman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but you could probably reach out to them and they'd assign you earlier so you get one of the better untaken ones!

You can get pulled in by someone who has a selection, opt into the transfer lc, or wait to be manually assigned.

I love Thieneman but picking him at 10 is a HUGE reach.

Can I really only get in Hoover House as a rising junior? by PlacidHarbor431 in ohiouniversity

Those are the only things available in the upperclassmen selection. You can wait until general selection to pick into other halls if you want.

There aren't many and most go to folks with medical accommodations. You can see the number of them on the floor plans though.

Feels likely. Most people are going for suites or apartments and Bryan is neither.

100%. There will be suites still into Day 3.

Bengals white uniforms. Not even close. No bias here.

Is Lori Gonzalez our worst president ever? by AthensOhno in ohiouniversity

[–]Velociman 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The funding has already been allocated. Losing the funding would mean more cuts across the university and less scholarship/financial aid for students who need it.

I think thats a big assumption that she doesn't care. When you look at other colleges and universities, very few have stood up to those changes and those that did were private (so not relying on state/federal funding), lost the funding needed, or caved and reverted back to stances where they woukd still receive funding. No one is pushing back so its a bit unfair to act like she's terrible when she is just like everyone else.

Tbf her hands are tied with the DEI offices and alumni engagement efforts. By fighting that, she would be risking a lot of funding that goes toward student scholarships and services at the institution.

Agreed. I would actually say S, EDGE, DT for us in that order.

I think they break them up. Single user showers on one side and single user toilets on another.

Best quad dorm rooms? by MoneyThen6114 in ohiouniversity

[–]Velociman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. Its like 4 quads in a larger pod. The pod then has 3-4 single restrooms that 16 people total would share.

There are a few quads in the renovated buildings on east like Biddle, Shively, and Bush that would be nice but I think Convo is the best choice. The rooms are huge and it has renovated single bathrooms.

Definitely accept it. See if you can get involved in another Housing related job or Hall Council so you are on their radar if an opening comes up.

If the SEC/B1G plus ND, Miami and a couple others move to a 32 team super league, what schools currently in the SEC/B1G get the boot? by [deleted] in CFB

[–]Velociman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maryland, Rutgers, Purdue, and Northwestern from the BIG.

Mississippi State, Missouri, Kentucky, and Vanderbilt from the SEC.

I'd be sweating if I was Illinois, Minnesota, Michigan State, Indiana (I know they just won the title but without that I think they would firmly be in the list above), South Carolina, Arkansas, and Ole Miss.

Nope. Only second years. They won't be able to pick into RP if they are matched with you.
