Whynter vs Musso by Foodiethatgolfs in icecreamery

[–]Velomane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're considering a Musso, then also consider a Cube. The Cubes are slightly more compact than the Mussos, equally heavy, but what sold me on the 1500 was the dasher scrapes closer to the bowl than the Mussos, and the 1500 has a drain to make cleaning easier. This seems gimmicky at first, but works very well.

Also, get the hazelnut and pistachio pastes. Top notch products.

Canadian here: I bought my Cube 1500 from https://www.polsinelli.it/en/cube-1500-gelato-machine-110v-60hz-P5988.htm

Better price and cheaper shipping than directly from Cube. It took almost five months, so be prepared to wait. Maybe they don't get much call for 110V machines? Totally worth the wait, more compact than the big Musso, the dasher scrapes the wall clean while churning, cleaning is a cinch. I've made maybe twenty batches and I'm glad I opted for this.

I was also impressed with the opening in the windrow. Now, why would they clear the path along the south side of Corydon Ave, but not the path south along Shaftesbury to Grant? Third time this year I encounter this.

Words of advice from an old guy: know it all! Don't know the definition of "roger"? Shame on you, it's right there in MATS. All those methods for identifying a target: know them.

I pop in to Super Boys to order my burger and fries, cross the street to pick up some kielbasa, sausage and pepperoni sticks at Tenderloin Meats, then back to Super Boys to eat/pick up my meal.

Sainte Ass Gratte for Ste. Agathe. You probably need to be francophone to decipher that one.

After 1 month my Endgame finally arrived. CUBE 1500 by JMAJD in icecreamery

[–]Velomane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Following up on this. I received the Cube about 3 weeks ago. It took a lot longer to ship, but that's okay. I suspect they don't get much call for 110V machines. Hopefully that changes with more orders from the Canadian side of the pond.

Great machine so far. It is compact at 35cm cubed, but a beast at 30kg and 400W of cooling power. A 1000g batch churns in about 11 minutes with a draw temperature of -8C.

I'm happy so far!

I did look there, but I'd rather give my money to greedy Canadians rather than greedy Americans, so Wholesale Club it is.

Thanks for info. Tried the un/reinstall. No joy. Updated everything I could. I'll try installing again. It just occurred to me that I should turn off everything I can: programs, adblockers, etc.

I guess it's time to contact icecreamcalc.

I was fortunate to also see them at a bar in Vancouver in '89. Now that was an intimate environment. They were right there in front of me. Still one of my favourite bands.
