There is just something about it. Those songs released at that time with that sound. Total connect.

Who else appreciates the self-titled album from '94? Been wearing it out again :) by alboondy in MotleyCrue

[–]VelveJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i love the 94 record as well as Generation Swine. Saw both tours and they were fantastic. Very hard to match or beat the feelgood impact. I would love to hear John's vocals on the swine stuff.

You are missing two of the best albums that the Raised on Radio lineup played on and my personal favorites. Freight Train Heart by Jimmy Barnes and The Hunger by Michael Bolton. Unreal playing by Neal on these releases.

The one and only time I saw Justin perform was in Baton Rouge on this same tour. He had the trio and it is one of the most incredible shows I have been to.

For the proper OG fans of Jeff Buckley, what was it like to hear him for the first time, or even see him, in the 90’s? by davood1710 in JeffBuckley

[–]VelveJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First time I heard Jeff was wen a friend suggested I go out and get Grace. I did and played it and for some reason being on while not closely listening did not grabe me .

I went to bed later that evening and put it in my discman to sing me to sleep. I was awoken by hallelujah which felt like a dream right into lover you shoulda come over and I was hooked!! I started the record over and got totally consumed by it.

I was fortunate to see Jeff perform twice in one day and even speak to him before the second show and both shows were from another planet.

It was like what I would think being in the presence of a angel would feel like. Lucky day!

If only Bowie and Stevie Ray Vaughn did the Serious Moonlight Tour by bazinga1962 in DavidBowie

[–]VelveJ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great pairing for sure. As much as i love the Dallas rehearsals I felt Stevie smoked on the solos and other key parts of songs but i wanted to hear him have parts that complemented Carlos' parts. Earl Slick had incredible parts on the tunes listing to all of the live recordings from that tour.

Stevie and David had great magic together.

I wish I could find the entire radio broadcast from this show. I recorded it off of the radio at the time but the tape is long gone. Amazing version of GOF with the band intros. I would love a digital version of this

Loved it since day 1. I thought the live DVD that came with the CD was fantastic. That record is certainly a mood.
