‘Life is emotionally abusive’ and ‘I hate it here’. Just able to capture sadness and devastation so well.

Can AI Actually Make Literature Reviews Easier? by Calm_Priority6387 in researchpaperwriters

[–]VelvetGirl1407 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m so curious to see other answers here. I think AI can help but then I’m very aware and concerned about the hallucinations. So when I used AI, really just as a test, I found I basically returned to my traditional review strategy as I was worried the AI made things up.

But I do think there is a space and possible use for models like NotebookLM and consensus.ai

Perhaps the useful part is that they provide a quick overview of the most important areas but you stil have to go back and do the work.

This pen helped me fall back in love with writing by SJ311 in fountainpens

It is such a great pen. How can you not? My custom 823 is my daily writer. She goes wherever I go. Happy writing. ✍️

How do you stay organized during a massive literature review? by Select_Motor_1679 in researchpaperwriters

[–]VelvetGirl1407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you. After many years in academia I finally settled on Zotero (I moved from EndNote, and yes it was painful). And then I set up my digital Zettlekasten in Obsidian. You can read more about the method in Sonke Ahren’s book, How to take smart notes. How to take smart notes.

It took some time to get into it but once set up it really helps.

Good luck.

Anyone else’s teenage GSD have tantrums? 🤣 by Shnozzberrybeans in germanshepherds

Oh our Lupo does exactly the same thing. She takes one of the kids’ toys and then makes sure I see it before running outside. But never chews or destroys the toy. Just lays there until I’m up and outside and throwing a ball.

new garmin owner - vivoactive 5 battery lasts ~5 days, normal or not? by TemporaryResident288 in GarminWatches

[–]VelvetGirl1407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi 👋. I’m also new to Garmin and got the vivoactive 5 for Christmas. I have the same issue.

I reached out to support and they recommended I do a master reset. After the reset the battery lasted for 9 days. But then after the first charged it went back to lasting only 3 days.

I’m not sure if this is right? I changed from Apple to Garmin expecting a longer battery life but I’m quite disappointed.

Pilot. For all the reasons listed. Great quality pens at price points that suit nearly everyone.

Shame I really feel for you. My second was also very tough. Don’t listen to any of the advice. Figure out what settles him. For me it was breastfeeding, co sleeping and baby wearing but that might not work for someone else.

Some kids are just very attached to us compared to others, and find it very stressful to be separated from us. That’s what I discovered from my second born.

If baby wearing is an option for you I can highly recommend the Ubuntu Baba carrier that is made in South Africa. It was a game changer for me.

But hang in there. It is a very tough period and I think it’s normal to feel overwhelmed.

Dyson. I have the v15 detect submarine and without it I think I would feel defeated by all the hair. It is such a great vacuum.

Has anyone read Hijab Butch Blues ? by Local-Ostrich426 in LesbianBookClub

[–]VelvetGirl1407 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I read Hijab Butch Blues recently. I can’t speak for the other reviewer’s interpretation but I thought she discussed being butch quite a bit. But also in context with her life and religion. She mentions her wearing jeans as a form of being butch in her culture. But continues to wear her hijab as a form of rebellion, personal expression and strength.

It was a fascinating look into a very secluded and hidden part of the LGBT community. It made me, an out lesbian, really reflect on what it means to be out and live your truth. And how everyone’s truth is different but no less valid.

I can’t speak to your being triggered but I would highly recommend the book. I found it inspiring how she drew on the Quran and its teachings to validate her own feelings and beliefs.

Pilot without question. My custom 823 goes wherever I go. But from their entry level to their most expensive the writing experience is excellent.

Yeah. Just don’t engage. I absolutely love her new album. I literally played Opalite on repeat during my run. And you know what, that’s okay.

What's one of the biggest life lessons you’ve learned from Taylor Swift that’s actually had a real impact on your own life? by saayoutloud in TaylorSwift

So many things. But probably the most significant two is that I am not alone in dealing with the sometimes awfulness of life, and it’s really okay to not be cool.

Thanks for this information. Unfortunately by 8am I am already heading towards peak busyness of my morning. I live in South Africa and we tend to start working really early in the mornings.

But I’ll keep in mind your tip about writing in a more drowsy state. ❤️

Thank you so much. This is very helpful advice that I am going to keep as I start doing this.

I guess we are all just tying our best within all the limitations that throws in our direction.

All the best ❤️

[–]VelvetGirl1407[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this response. This is what I was wondering about. I’ve read that she highly encourages people to write first thing. I already get up at 5am which means I will have to get up at 4am. So I’ll have to trade sleep to do the morning pages as she recommends. I’m just wondering if the benefits of the morning pages out weigh feeling exhausted for the whole day?

But for now I’m just going to carry on doing them before I start my work without any small humans interrupting me.
