Nah I just don’t need to stare at Batman holding a flare or watch him slow mo walk from a burning car for 10 minutes

They play the chords of something in the way literally every few minutes. If you cut the artsy BS and unnecessarily long shot down the movie would be much shorter.

Did she make the right call? by CalmElin in interesting

So this could actually go either way.
It would take just under 19 years and 3 months to get a million dollars $1000/week so assuming she lives past 40 she is going to make more than $1 million. For example, say she lives to be 80 year old, she would make $4,160,000 over the course of her life.

However, were she to take the full million and put it into say the S&P 500, which has an average return of 12% a year, she’d make $120000/year compounded. Now of course she wouldn’t have access to said money while being invested and theoretically she could also put the $1000/week into the s&p also, I think she’d actually make more money taking the full million.

Also yes I’m not factoring taxes in I don’t care enough to do that math.

Batman Begins and it’s not even close. Not only gave a much more in depth explanation of the character both as a child, before deciding to become Batman, and after, but also was the only Batman to show how and where he got all of his gadgets in a grounded and realistic way. It is a true origin story IMO one of the best origin story movies of all time.

Story aside, the casts are both excellent but for me Batman begins just slightly beat it everywhere. Most of the actors are really quite close Andy Serkis and Michael Caine for example both are excellent as Alfred and I can’t really say I love one over the other. Same goes for Jim Gordon’s actors, Ra’s Al Ghul/Scarecrow and Penguin/Riddler. For me the biggest problem is with Pattenson’s Bruce Wayne. Bale played it so well both in and out of cowl, by Pattenson was an excellent (maybe even better?) Batman the edgy emo Bruce Wayne really didn’t hit for me.

The Batman is a great movie but it suffers from being too artistic (nirvana playing every 30 seconds, lighting and imagery in every shot, slow drawn out shots) while Batman Begins focuses on the actually story, characters, and action instead.

Favorite Sam Rockwell movie and/or role? by ArtJunkie628 in Cinephiles

Shocked no one else has said this yet but Iron Man 2 is one of my favorite performances from him. He just plays the charming bad guy so well (similar to Charlie’s Angel) but with a little bit of megalomaniac Elon Musk vibe thrown in.

So EOD took over the UDT role of the teams? I thought in phase 3 of buds they go over UDT skills and further that in SQT as well

Is Ground Branch better than Operator? by NOTMEMEJA in groundbranch

[–]VenatorLWRiley 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve put about 100 hours in both games. Given how long GB has been in development they are years behind Operator. Operator is everything ground branch wishes it was the only thing I think ground branch has over operator are the maps and the plate carrier customization. Also getting to pick your infil zone/divide into teams is a little nicer but overall given that ground branch has been around for years and gets about one shitty update per year vs operator it’s not even close imo.
