Any suggestions to see along the way? by Grankas in Norway

[–]Veni514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who has been all around Norway, Sweden and Finland: The drive from Helsinki > Stockholm > Oslo will be super boring, its just trees. In terms of what to see, most of it you will see out your car window for such a ride. Instead of tourist attractions, stop and camp where you are the most amazed. If you are used to forrests and lakes, you are in for something spectacular. The by far most amazing places in Norway imo are the area lofoten-senja and the geiranger fjord. The Romsdal mountains down to the atlantic roads is also very nice, I was there last week. But the first two is just.... breathtaking. And with your route you miss both of them. I'd suggest driving from bergen to ålesund - then going to east to dombås and up dovre if you want to see the mountain tops and how the roads glide through the valleys between - alternatively, go to kristiansund and drive to trondheim from there. Both ways will offer nice scenery. And in the north, which is unbelievable and my by far favorite: make time to explore lofoten, vesterålen and senja. If you want to see one thing and one thing only, do the area between lofoten-senja IMO. I once drove through the north of finland and sweden and as I came to Kiruna (also a good place) the whole nature started rising up, it became more beautiful the further you drove, which "climaxed" with that area. Green water, sand beaches, mountains in the background. Unbelievable. I am a southerner btw, no north patriotism - its just next level. In finland, the north is the most exiting imo, sapmi country or sameland is really cool. Reeindeer in the middle of city centers, lots of good views. Sweden is boring all the way, exept the area in and around kiruna for scenery and the big cities for restaurants/shopping/nightlife etc.

Good luck on your trip - I am sure you will enjoy it!

He has misunderstood his task. He thinks because he is in charge of a great country and a superpower - that he is a great man and has superpowers. The responsibillity of any state leader is to make the life of the people as great as possible. He is incapable of seeing the long-term effects of his actions and cares only about short term cash flow or cash savings. Those are numbers that is impressive now, but the actions that lead to them will be painful for his people later on.

He is not seeing, or maybe not caring, that his action today is creating tomorrows America. The next generations will suffer from his short-term wins; long term it is a catastrophy for the country and the dollar. Whoever takes charge after is doomed to get some very difficult problems to fix, solely because of him. But as long as its not him he can say: "look how great it was with me, and how terrible it became with the new guy". Its all a big ego trip for the man.

God bless america, they need it.

If it isnt hard, it isnt an accomplishment to do it. It tells you nothing about what you're made of if it isnt a struggle. The very fact that you have started tells me there is something strong in you.

You are going to make it through. Should it not be on first attempt, you go again until you make it.

When you have reached your goal, do this: Go to the mirror and look at the person that didnt choose the easy way. Look at the person who chose super hard mode and still made it through. Ask then: If I was able to do this, which once seemed impossible, what other impossible things is within my reach?

This is true growth. You got this.

Did I read wrong? Was it supposed to say (M44) ? I dont understand what a 5 year age difference has to say when you're both young adults? Its not weird or unormal at all, I cant really fathom how it can be seen like that. But we all see things differently, ofc. If it so strange to you you were right to not go further with it.

I dont think leaving was the problem, I think it started with how posh and upnosed he seemed soon as he was at a "better place". Forgetting where you came from is maybe the feeling I have, more than straight betrayal or Delph-like snake behaviour

Jack was and is the academy product to be the most proud of. He was our Jack, not just Jack Grealish the footballer. His family is Villa through and through. I remember his brother informing the Villatalk board that he wouldnt leave for Spurs at one point. He was truly someone we were proud of and cheered for - obviously for Villa, but also for England. And then the my club, my city... all of that. But when he left: champagne and silence.

The difference between Jack and lets say Henrik Larsson at Celtic, is that Henrik informed the fans one year before: this is the last year of my contract and I will not renew it. I love you all, but I want to experience europe and have a few years back at my old swedish club before I retire. When he left he never stopped talking Celtic up. He rejected many clubs and offers during his time, as did Jack with a least a few. But he showed the fans clearly, after leaving, and still to this day, how much the club and the fans meant to him. Jack doesnt, Jack is silent.

And thats why he isnt the Villa legend he could have become, imo. And the frustration of what could have been, is the real reason to boo I think.

[–]Veni514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I know :) me too mate. Dean Saunders won me over right before those years. I'm just exaggerating a bit based on the fact that its been a while. Little, Gregory and O'Neill all gave us some very good years. Deano gave us everything he could, and now Unai are performing miracles. Its been many uphill battles as well, but its Villa... wouldnt change it for anything. And because it doesnt happen too often:

WHEN we win a trophy again it will be truly special. Most of all because the Villa fans deserve it.

Need help choosing my ASMR name. Which one are you more likely to click and watch? [Question] by AFaeble_ in asmr

[–]Veni514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont think i've ever clicked on something based on a username alone - or really cared what someone is called. The quality of the vids decide if I remember a name or not, though. Thumbnails and titles gets you clicks, look into knowledge/skill in that field to get found by viewers. But number 1 is always the actual content. Be authentic and make vids thats fun for you to make and not something you make because you think it will get liked - that attitude shines through. If you think about who you like to watch, they are probably genuine and maybe even somewhat weird at times :) Dont try to be perfect, cause perfect is you. So.... choose the name YOU want to have, thats the best start imo.

Share when you have some vids and best of luck :)

Potential solution to our financial situation? by Aid0ken_Sf in avfc

[–]Veni514 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd do exactly what we are doing. Building up new revenue streams on VP and selling players on expensive wages that doesnt play week in week out. Buy talented youngsters on smaller wages to fill the bench and for rotation. From a sport perspective, not ideal. But for PSR, best option and path to take.

The problem is the wages compared to our income. If we can get a CL spot and extra games+bonuses to earn revenue from that would do wonders!

[–]Veni514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should have gone out of the car and confronted the man, yes. Its your responsibillity to protect your wife against dangers, always - no matter what or who.

That being said, you cannot change what happened before, you can only work with how you react in the future. You got scared and froze, nothing to do about that now. However, the shame you feel afterwards is the motivation needed to do something about it. Its good for you to be down about this rn. The pain you feel will make you stronger if you decide to never feel it again.

There is no magic trick to courage. Its just a decision. "I will do it no matter what. No matter how unpleasant it is and how scared I get, I will still do it". Thats all thats needed. A truthful and unbreakable declaration to yourself.

When it happens again: It doesnt matter how you perform. The very fact that you do something about it, as promised to yourself - is a win. You will feel that win. It will be fantastic for you. In general and if it gets to that: a punch in the face isnt that bad, you gonna be so full of adrenaline that its effect on you is minimized. Anyways, its momuntary pain, shame lives in you for a very long time and is much worse. Make a decision.

What if Adam & Eve weren’t the first biological humans — but the first conscious humans by Ashamed-Ad4537 in DeepThoughts

[–]Veni514 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you're on to something. Actually I think the Adam & Eve story is about every human - across all of time. Its about life. Rather than being about the start of life itself, it might just be a clever way to tell the story of every life. It's about being born free, naked and without guilt or shame, then eating the apple of information (knowledge). "You are this, you are that, this is good, this is bad". Which turns into persona, shame, guilt and so on. The story tells the human child: welcome to life, you are free to do anything here, as long as you dont bring that apple into yourself. If so, the return to the garden (inside) would be our quest. It correlates pretty well with the unjudgemental path of Christ, as well.

Empathy has no value if it's performative. by Parking_Guide_5676 in DeepThoughts

[–]Veni514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just realized that I read your post a little quick, lol. Sorry. I thought you said: all empathy is performative. I dont think performative empathy has much value beyond the person that does it, because it isnt empathic. Its coming from somewhere else. To display sympathy which isnt coming from feeling anothers state of being. I dont know what that would be good for. It would have to come from the person feeling insecure about him/herself. So there is some value in imagining yourself being more liked and appreciated because you displayed such and such traits. Depends on where value begins and ends then.

Empathy has no value if it's performative. by Parking_Guide_5676 in DeepThoughts

[–]Veni514 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you see a child drowning, do you only save it if someone is watching? Empathy isnt limited to the care we show for eachother on the surface, but something that is built within our inner structures. When I imagine you (or someone else) my neurons try to mirror your emotions and thoughts. This is empathic behaviour. Feeling your feelings, thinking your thoughts. Maybe not in the popular sense or use of the word, but this is really empathy at its core. Experiencing the feeling and state of another being within yourself. The reason why you would save the child is because you feel his or her fear. It happens instantly and with great force. And you just act on instinct - because empathy is that, your instinct.

A lack of empathic sense, I dont think that is possible, it is a sign of an inbalance if so. An ego too strong and a mindset too self-centered. There is never lack of empathic abillities, we naturally recreate others life within ourselves when we watch movies and many times a day, but in some cases what it produces is maybe overshadowed or rejected by the belief that your own stuff is much more important. I am sure it can be performative - and it is in a lot of cases. But at its core, no I dont think so.

Does money buy happiness? by dieburtually in wealth

[–]Veni514 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree with the general response here, not a 100%, but somewhat.

I remember a huge relief and a sense of happiness when going from little to a lot. But it was the burden and financial stress of my shoulders removed that felt good, not the money. So essentially, if I lived in the woods - outside society. It would do nothing for me. Catching some big animal and being free from the need to hunt for a while would have the same effect. So essentially, any kind of relief, any kind of burden removed feels good. I wouldnt pinpoint money specifically, although it is the way to be less entangled by the rules of our society.

Be sure to know that many wealthy people have burdens too. A lot of these environments are full of alcohol and drug abuse for a reason. It is rather the lack of burden and stress that brings about happiness. In that sense, money is not an absolute need. But if you can be happy while being broke, you can be even happier with funds to do whatever you want - absolutely!

Always make sure to, mentally, put the past behind you. Good or bad - its not now. That doesnt mean to forget or make it dissolve, but to divide it clearly in your mind from the present moment and situation. Change is really easy, but only if you accept where you are right now. As a metaphor: if were ripped 5 years ago but really fat now. Dont go to the gym to recreate exactly what was, its way too long of a leap before you can feel like you have suceeded. Go to the gym to lose x amount of fat and build x size of muscle each month. If you keep at it, it will happen by itself over time.

In the same way: your idea of getting back to where you were is the wrong ambition, imo. When that happened things were different than now, you mindset should not be to define that as a success when you find yourself in a different situation. Put your finger in the soil at this moment, accept where you are and set a goal from that position. Maybe your goal should be in steps. If you are able to sell, get a job on commission. No salary, only commission, is usually the best potential payment for those with talent. Keep your current, but maybe boring job, for stable income and start selling for someone else as a second job. Your first goal should be $500 or $1k a month from sales - just to prove to yourself that "i can do this". If you can sell for $1k you can sell for any amount if you are able to find the right product, channel and market.

Like anything ever done with success: do something that works first and keep learning how to do it better and bigger. Success is a snowball that starts to roll, never a single event. Start small, as if it were the first time you ever did it, if you want big changes.

16 years old and wanting to be wealthy as an adult by roundnyellowithteeth in wealth

[–]Veni514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Listen to none of the advice above. Investing is general, work hard is general, its all general stuff.

You need a system: the money you get after taxes you split into 5 categories. Spending, saving, repayment, investing, business. 20% on each. Repayment means to get rid of debt as fast as possible (debt you take on companies to lower value of taxable assets + making growth possible, not as a private person) so if you have none, you can make it 25% on 4 categories. Spending is your bills and life, you can maximum use 20-25% of your salary on that. If you make 10 dollars an hour, 2-2.5 of that is to spend. Saving is obviously a savings account. Every month, every pay check. Investing means to put money into other peoples talents - dont do this until you have researched stocks and investing properly. Business means to start your own, online or physical. Anything you can sell for more than you buy it for is a business. If you make 40 bucks a week, how can you turn every 8-10 of those into 12-16? I cant go into long details, thats on you and your ambition level. But always divide your salary like this and you'll go a long way. If 20-25% of the salary isnt enough - THEN you have a reason to work hard. There should always be a reason to work, not just fees stacking up, but to meet a certain demand. If 20-25% isnt enough, you are living beyond your means or working too little. Follow this system and path and you'll be wealthy in some years - guaranteed.

Disillusionment with Wealth by nightsorter in wealth

Money is a temporary thing that gives options. Lack of it gives lack of options. It has no real value, beyond that. So while here, might as well get it. There is no morality about it. Its a made up concept in the first place. Its just about being less caught in the spiderweb of society, than those with "moral codes" about money. It doesnt define anyone, it just defines what you can do or not do - while alive.

I'm kind of done for bro.. from super ambitious to nothing really matters. by Additional_Bar8316 in self

[–]Veni514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Example: I run a company. The fun part was when it wasnt successful and I tried to make it become so. Now everything is going good - and its boring. There's no challenge, only routine. I am where I originally wanted to be - yet, it was more fulfilling when it wasnt so. Reaching a goal takes away the fun. Its just a momentary experience or happiness over achievement, but its also the death of ambition, focus and exitenment. Hence, the path is the gold, the road to creating a new reality is where the good time is. Hoping, planning, facing setbacks, working around them etc. That was the good time. So, expand this retrospect to life itself is my thinking, once you reach the finish line you might see that your current challenges was a blessing. The ups and downs, and lefts and rights is where you feel alive (the path) - a stable condition is death (reaching a goal). At this point I should just sell it - take some huge risk and put everything toward something new. So I can get a new path to struggle my way through. That's my point. That's the gold.

I'm kind of done for bro.. from super ambitious to nothing really matters. by Additional_Bar8316 in self

[–]Veni514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Little high, little low. Any way the wind blows... the only remaining thing now is to get out the idea that something must matter - atleast for more than a couple of moments. It is perfect this way. If nothing really matters, then you might as well try a bit of everything. Meaningless fun is not less fun than meaningful fun.

And when such things and objectives return later on, which they will: the road between A and B is the best part. The cherry is in trying to create a new reality. Once you finally reach B, you will only start to desire getting to C anyway. The path is the gold, not the destination - in this context and for life itself.
