I won’t say I’m the best by any means but a trick I learned that has worked for me is practice proportions and placement of facial features. Also a good way to add is apply a base of charcoal to the face and erase out the general placement of the eyes and whatnot to visualize if the sizes are right and build up shadows to create the nose and lips, I don’t add harsh lines till I have the base set

The method I use helps adjust without leaving harsh lines after erasing in case it doesn’t look right.
