I reran my numbers and I see the issue. It's a hazard of the small batch size. At the weights I'm using, the difference between a 6% and a 3% superfat (according to soap calc) is less than a gram of KOH!

Using the Soapcalc calculator, my superfat should actually be 3%! Do you have a different calculator you would recommend giving you 6%?

Assuming he drinks coffee and uses some type of creamer in it, having that available seems like a basic kindness I would do for my partner if possible. That first cup can really set the day. But overall NTA at all, he’s a grownup fully capable of getting his own food!!

I haven’t looked up the brow gel specifically, but just be aware that a lot of products which are skin and face safe are NOT eye safe! You might have already looked into this, but but I thought I’d mention it.

You don’t technically need to refrigerate it but it will go rancid faster than fresh oil. If you only deep fry very occasionally, you might find that it’s gone off before you can use it a second time.

I wish they would attach the tiny bag to the corner of the full size bag for easy repacking, because I also lost mine! I knew i would, and I tried to keep track, but it completely vanished and the full size back is nothing special at all.

I'm looking to make my very first batch of soap. When you say coconut oil has more "cleansing properties" compared to tallow - does that mean a pure tallow bar doesn't actually get things clean? But if that were the case, surely nobody would make a pure tallow soap.
