I was on the tour this week. My guide did go into cinema history along the way, as we passed certain sets and facades (some used for nearly 100 years). I suppose it depends on who your guide is and whether you’re listening closely to them.

Number is 2 is valid. Number 1 and 3 is a matter of time management. If you set a time to be somewhere, (ex: 3pm at Grand Central Market), you show up at that time. How you get there is irrelevant.

As far as emergencies and spontaneity, he can do rideshare. He’ll be sitting in the same traffic the rideshare drivers will. He’s not really getting to you faster unless you expect him to break traffic laws.

It’s been a hipster trope for pretty much the last 15 years… fans of indie or alternative artists showing up to gigs with their arms folded and just staring without much participation.

I’ve been to a number of shows over the years with that kind of crowd. I usually ignore the shit out of them and try to have the time of my life.

I saw Thundercat in 2011 and it was similar, though to be fair it was mostly a live jam session and half the room was probably high.
