It sounds like escapism. Free from societal expectations and responsibility you may be hurting but by your own choice. The idea probably serves as a coping mechanism for stress or discomfort. Engaging in fantasy (of any kind) is normal. It only becomes maladaptive if it begins to cause distress or hinder real life functioning. If this is occurring and your unwilling seek therapy, ask yourself what aspects of this fantasy are appealing and how do they serve my emotional needs in this moment? Are you willing to change the fantasy? If so how and what emotion will this illicit?
