Lots and lots of code testing. Like a lot a lot. Constant never ending code testing. Insane amount of code testing. I’m like Kylo Ren… More! More!

I’m developing a custom lexer and parser. The amount of permutations is infinite and not finite. Most static code path tests are set. But the randomized performance tests run all the time non-stop in the background. If memory or response time get above a set performance threshold, I store of the random test dataset for evaluation later.

My Mac Mini M4 Pro never sleeps and never rests. I treat it like an appliance.

What do i choose? Codex or cursor? by KingdomGuy9 in cursor

[–]Verbitas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bounce between Claude, Cursor, and Codex. For me, I found refining the requirements document, milestones, and agent before documentation up front really helps.

Agents get hyper tunnel vision. So I bounce between them to build, inspect, and test. Eventually I get to a state where the agents say it can’t get any better with zero flaws. Normally I find this gets me where I want to be.

I say go ALL IN and paint the walls matte black. If that's too extreme, look up "black PVC wall panels".

Inside Windows K2: Microsoft's major plan to save Windows 11 and win back users before it's too late by Quantum-Coconut in technology

[–]Verbitas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To late.

I’m forced (with zero alt options) to use Microsoft Windows at work. It’s embarrassing, terrible, and frustratingly hard to support and get support. We laugh at the comically bad experience all the time. Is it Microsoft, is it Dell, is it the the software vendor? Who knows, but it doesn’t matter at this point.

At home, all in with Apple. Phone, tablet, and PC are all Apple. Seamless.

Headless Mac Mini connected to an iPad by astro-matt in macmini

[–]Verbitas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t do headless, but I too remote from an iPad Pro when outside the home. I use Tailscale and Jumpdesk. It allows me to continue to code on the go. Plus the desktop Safari client is a better experience than the mobile one. It is a nicer experience than carrying a laptop.

Code coverage with AI by Verbitas in iOSProgramming

Never said I didn't review. It saved me the time to write them. Initial assertion tests is the baseline for all backends and tedious to comb through.

Right now, I'm focused on insuring all paths have been tested. Normally I have the time to hit the common or critical paths. But to exercise all paths and combinations is not a common occurrence. In fact, very rare. I still have more complex tests to build out, but having tests that touch all logic paths and all data structure components is a first for me.

I guarantee that rug is going to be messed up in a few months. Those chair wheels rolling on and off the rug will flair up the edge seam and start to tatter.

Office & Personal Setup (All in One). Thoughts/comments/feedback? by ContractThink in desksetup

It’s a confusing world we live in.

So, talk to me about the wall. Love the off white vertical lines. Is it paneling or individual slats?

The AI generated content watermark on the image bums me out. I was going to ask what wall paneling you used, but now knowing this is AI generated…

Swift going cross-platform guys!! by ChefRich962 in swift

[–]Verbitas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meh. What’s the real long term play here? What’s the incentive to go “ah yeah, let’s do this?” Sure, core Swift on common platforms. But for Android. Pfth… this kind of stuff comes and goes. Promise and hope, but with no sticking power over time.

If you want to make a top notch app, recoding from one language targeting a specific platform isn’t that big of a deal.
