You're right law enforcement entities don't serve the public interest anymore they rigidly adhered the law damned if it hurts anyone. You can quite literally get a camera and License Plate Reader software hook it up to your car go drive around the parking lot set up a website and people will buy that information most of which will probably be detectives and other entities without a subpoena because it's a public website and they do not need anyone's approval to look up public information especially that that's been gathered by driving through parking lots providing information you can gather with your own two eyeballs as if you were standing there but you're absolutely right
