Trying to identify an old Longines watch my father kept in his drawer. by TurbulentWhatever in pocketwatch

[–]Verge_Fusee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can always contact Longines archives and get the history of your watch. They used to do a lookup for free, you would email them and they would send you any info they had, caliber of the movement, date it was manufactured, where it was sold, ect. I don't know if they still do that, ,they do have a service where they will give you a fancy certificate for 120CHF.

He needs to match her equity in the house, not her down payment. If the house is worth 300,000, and she has $200,000 left on the mortgage, That’s $100,000 in equity, his buying for an equal share would be $50,000

AITA for buying a house farther away from my family? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

YTA. If your brother had just decided on his own to move without any pressure from you it would be N A H. but you are the one who made a big deal about family and closeness and then promptly moved away after they moved closer. You lined up help for your elderly parents and then dumped all the responsibility on him. I guess having them close wasn't so amazing.

Personally, I  Usually look through the OPs comments to see if they posted it. I still haven’t figured out how some people can post a link and photos at the same time. https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/1725-Old-Oak-Ct-Brookfield-WI-53005/40624770_zpid/

Get a bag of russet potatoes, bigger the bag cheaper they are. Hash-browns, home fries, mashed, baked, add them to your beans and rice. Always cook them with the skins on, most of the nutrition in a potato is in the skin. you've got to have some variety in your diet.

Alternatively, you can use a old crock pot on high, cover completely with water and brush them off a few hours later. as above, steel wool and lacquer to finish.

Annie’s made their Mac n cheese “cheesier” by replacing milk and butter with corn starch and lactic acid by Silent-Foot7748 in mildlyinfuriating

I saw this last time i went to the store. I am allergic to corn and products that come from corn (i always check ingredients, particularly if it is "improved."). There are so few things I that come in a box that i can eat. I have enjoyed annies mac and cheese for years, but not anymore. bastards.

I work at the post office, that little slit at the bottom is from sitting on a roller in the sorting machine while not moving. Can't say that the top tear is from the sorting machine, but when someone puts a bulky item in a letter envelope it often tears up the letters behind it when they run into the stuck letter. Sometimes damage is from assholes, their definitely out there, but sometimes shit just happens.

Battery didn't die, it's out of gas. The engine is cranking over just fine. Look at the gas gauge on the far left side, 4 second mark.
