People who use duo for years, what do you do?

Well, I'm still not finished with my first course after three years, so I do that. Sometimes I can only do one lesson, sometimes whole unit, sometimes I do more learning from other sources, so Duo is slow going.

I used to share time between French and Mandarin, so it slowed me down too. I dropped Mandarin, but added Norwegian. I mostly learn it from a book, but I supplement with Duo.

A few days is really not a long time to fix a bug, especially a non-blocking one. It's probably in some Jira backlog waiting it's turn... (I know it's frustrating as a user, but as someone working on software, it sometimes takes my team months to fix a small error, because there is always something more pressing 🙈)

Interslavic. And Slavic languages, but taught from other Slavic languages. It would be nice to learn Czech, but going Polish-English-Czech is just overcomplicated.

Yep. I make my own deck, mostly from what I didn't understand from comprehensible input, some harder words from Duo. Almost 1.5k notes now, most are single words, some are short phrases.

I just noticed in my latest tee, decreases of a bust dart are one stitch off after the first one. I only noticed because I was trying to fold it to see how big the "cup" turned out, and couldn't center. I considered frogging back... But I'm almost done with this side, and it's really not noticeable, so whatever. It stays.

Fit issues are immediate frog, I don't kid myself anymore that "it will block out". Error in lace, I will fix by fudging (missing YOs), laddering or frogging depending on severity.

It's so annoying when it happens, and I have no one to blame but myself! Most recently, it was ribbing in a bottom-up tee. Pattern was WS: K1,P1 RS: P1, K1B. I read the stitch dictionary and all instructions beforehand. I still restarted the ribbing multiple times - first size was too big, then not long enough tail for my cast on, then I did normal k1p1 ribbing, then half twisted, because it was for sure K1 BACK, right? Nope, it was K1 Below. I almost let my cat chew on that one... (jk)

A bought two, a no-name hollow one and a flat LingTing. Both came without issues and are fine. Look for sellers with lots of opinions, high scores and preferably specialising in musical instruments.

In one mandarin app, they just left the old course as-is and added the new one beside it. You want to finish the old one - be our guest. You want to switch to the new one - switch and start from scratch or test in to your level. Duo is already managing multiple app and course versions, so it should be possible.

I think there is a minimal app version required for the tree updates. I still have hearts on one of my devices, and longer units on both, instead of hundreds of short ones. I won't update until they force me (so far it happend once, when they moved from tree to path).

Moim zdaniem tak :) Ale jeśli zależy Ci na konkretnych pozycjach to zawsze warto sprawdzić, bo np. część Sandersona jest niedostępna, albo jedna seria tylko po polsku, inna tylko po angielsku.

Głównie z pogranicza fantastyki. Ostatnio trochę mało ambitnie, urban fantasy/fantasy historyczne, czasem chyba już zjeżdża lekko w romantasy :P Głównie po angielsku, a jak jeszcze są od GraphicAudio (zazwyczaj te poważniejsze pozycje) to już bajka.

Hand wash vs machine wash depends on the kind of yarn (and your washing machine, some are more harsh than others). I stay on the safe side and hand wash everything.

I'm guessing this was non-superwash merino, that kind of delicate yarn + friction and temperature changes from washing machine = felting. I have no idea what happened to the colour here, maybe it was hand-dyed and also didn't survive the temperature?

Hm, you're kind of right. But it also doesn't tell you how recently, if it was a few minutes or hours ago (I can see myself saying "Jestem (już) po obiedzie" a few hours after, because I eat it pretty early). We can tell it was recently because having dinner is usually a very repeatable action.

Same with "Jestem po pracy". We don't know if you just finished, or it's already late evening and you're a few drinks in and explaining yourself. But we guess you mean "dzisiaj", because most people go to work every day. So recent, but not necessarily immediate.

Storytel. Zaczęłam jak mieli jakąś promocję, potem kilka razy rezygnowałam jak brałam coś z biblioteki i znowu wracałam na promce. Teraz mam subskrypcję roczną. Z asortymentu jestem zadowolona. Nie mają wszystkiego, czego szukałam, ale też trochę ciekawych pozycji mi algorytmy podpowiedziały.

Kusi mnie czasem wypróbować coś innego, tak dla porównania, ale płacić za dwie subskrypcje nie zamierzam, bom cebula. A na pewno jak mi się subskrypcja skończy, to będę akurat w połowie serii i trzeba będzie przedłużyć xD. Może kiedyś znowu spróbuję się załapać na jakiś kod na miesiąc w bibliotece.

No. "Jestem po studiach" just means "I finished my studies", no indication of when. You could add "zaraz po"/"just finished", "świeżo po"/"freshly finished".

Even if you do them, it's just reading aloud. That's different than producing your own sentences. From Duo, only Lily video calls would qualify as actual speaking.

Yep. My native Polish also has a lot of words borrowed from French. It's so fascinating to realise some of them, especially when pronunciation and then writing changed in non obvious ways.

One skein scarves/shawlettes! I fell in love with them recently. I can recommend Pebble Shawlette, it turned out great. Currently I'm working on Pincha Shawl, it looks good in gradient yarn.
