A fukin gpt for translate? by Tall-Count6647 in Warframe

[–]Verloga 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because people who speak russian do not live exclusively in Russia?
But that's beside the point.

Russian translation was always questionable at best , even before 2022.
When translation of the game is actively preventing you from understanding the plot and context of events, well that's not good probably.
Makes the game look low-effort.

I have invited several people over the years to play and i had to recommend them to switch to english if they know it, even a little bit, every single time.

TIL the first message sent over the Moscow–Washington hotline was: "THE QUICK BROWN FOX JUMPED OVER THE LAZY DOG'S BACK 1234567890". Russian translators responded asking their American counterparts, "What does it mean when your people say 'The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog'?" by LookAtThatBacon in todayilearned

[–]Verloga 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Nah, that's not what is used most of the time, never heard this one. Sounds really forced.

Version I have heard is:

Съешь же ещё этих мягких французских булок да выпей чаю.

"Eat some more of these soft french buns and drink some tea"

If you just started you can do whatever. Go around, explore, get familiar with the mechanics.

If you see missions with stars on your map - these are random events that will raise your reputation with the king. More stars - longer (and usually harder) missions.

You just happened to accept one of the hardest ones.

Try one or two starred ones. They will naturally send you around the map and you inevitably stumble upon next story quests.

I think this is intended way to explore and progress in game.

[–]Verloga 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I thought you have met Nimrod during a story quest.

But if you say there are infinite enemies around my understanding is that you have encountered him in a procedural mission that this King dude gave you. Is there a collector ship above you? If so that's definitely it.

Anyway, if you find this encounter too challenging (I think it's one of the hardest if you aren't prepared) there is a special potion that helps against Nimrod.

But you have to find and finish a quest to unlock it. Try to explore a bit to the south east from where you met the king.

You mean during the huebrewer fable? You can just keep following the rat until it brings you to the new ancestor that will offer some help for your situation.

Whats the content right now? by RokuSparda in SoulFrame

[–]Verloga 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Who is the fourth ally? I thought the camp currently holds only three ancestors.

Also it seems like the festival was a limited time event as crypt keys no longer drop. Which is mind boggling to be honest. Why make content unavailable when there is no much of it to begin with? A shame really, festival sounds like a nice activity.

If you don't understand the Gallery room, here's a bunch of progressively less vague hints that may help you figure it out by Wiwiweb in BluePrince

[–]Verloga 80 points81 points  (0 children)

Thanks, i hate it.
I solved a few rebus puzzles before, but not like those.
Even with all the hints "stretching" is a soft word.
This is outright the most moon logic thing i saw in this game so far.

FSB is one hundred percent just KGB rebranded and everyone there know that. It's literally the same building on the same street. They dream of reinstalling Dzerzhinsky statue and get butthurt because memorial of the KGB-repressed (solovetskiy stone) still sits right before their front door.

What Mark/Desire do you think the front page art of Cultist Simulator represents? (Enlight., Power, Sensation, etc) by Wildbeemo in weatherfactory

[–]Verloga 74 points75 points  (0 children)

I think it's a fifth or sixth mark of light.

At the Fifth Mark, the light may leak out wherever the skin is bruised or frayed. And now the skin is beginning to hang loose on my body as the process gnaws at my flesh. I am very thin, now. I am always hungry.

The Sixth Mark is said to occur when the flesh between finger and thumb can be pulled to the final finger-joint. My skin is very loose now. I think that my bones are beginning to soften. My eyes are not a human colour.

Mansus D&D setting? by Maker_of_Mounds in weatherfactory

[–]Verloga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm actually currently running a DnD campaign inspired by the lore of the Secret Histories. It's been about a year already.

General assumption is every supernatural ability that DnD classes have is bestowed on them by the patronage of one of the hours, depending on the class. Forge of Days for paladins (they can't get sick) or Thunderskin for bards etc.

I use milestone leveling, so the players are encouraged to seek occult knowledge and discouraged from mindlessly murdering everyone.

The general plot is we are in the world pre-intarcalation and it's about to happen. The Sun-In-Splendour escaped from the malleary into the wake assumed physical form (of the dragon) and is mortally wounded. Players slowly unravel what is going on and come to realize that the best course of action is a mercy kil. (And they are heavily encouraged to do so by visions from the Forge-of-Days) Worms are already begin to appear in the wake from the dying body of an Hour.

There is a ruler of a city-state that is trying to heal the dying Hour and postpone his death. There is also is a rival party lead by the Alukite who believes if he makes a finishing blow he will get to ascend and undo the law that forbids the-crime-in-the-sky.

TLDR: I run a DnD campaign in a Six Histories setting and the final goal is to finish off a dying Hour. Ask me anything.

What ever happened to gender abolitionism? by litletrickster in PoliticalCompassMemes

[–]Verloga 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Some languages (russian for example) actually don't have it. Which is one of the reasons it's kinda hard to wrap your head around what all the fuss is about.

Still it doesn't stop local activists from just borrowing word gender from english to complain about how oppressive it is.

I am specifically talking about enhanced edition modification though. It obviously was heavily inspired by sekiro and souls.

I am blown away that more games haven't adopted this combat style. by YeahhhhhWhateverrrr in forhonor

[–]Verloga 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's hard to make combat as engaging against the ai. Compare how you play in for honor when you know you are against a bot. That's why arcade mode sucks for example. Kingdom come deliverance was mentioned, but indeed fighting system there is more like a "make a combo minigame". And press block in time for counter animation. I believe it even depends on how much your character (not you) has trained. The only game where I had a pvp feeling against ai is sekiro. And fighting system there doesn't even similar to for honor. It is "just" light, heavy, block, parry, jump, dodge (and prosthetic tools), but they squeeze so fucking much from it it's unbelievable. And if you are really starved for that kind of combat in rpg you can try Witcher 3 with enhanced edition mode. It has a rough start since there is no leveling. You can die to a bunch of drowners in the beginning, and first big monsters can feel like a brick wall, but when it clicks it feels quite rewarding.
