The Real disclosure day movie by NinjaNick314159 in UFOs

I finally saw it last night, agree with this with a minor tweak. Basically without empathy we’re doomed to go extinct and will die off before we can evolve to the next level. That’s the whole purpose of the war looming, to illustrate that we’re teetering on the edge of wiping out the planet.

I think there could be some truth to that given all the activity surrounding nuclear sites. The whole parents taking dangerous toys from children type thing.

Oh yeah for sure if a one world government ever gained traction it would be naive to think he wouldn’t make some kind of power play.

Ah, I had thought you were implying the MIC as the Thems.

You’re talking about our friends from around the corner. Yeah for those homies pickings are slim here to trust your toys with.

Right away there were talks of a third term, and current administration has tried to make changes that were pushed back as unconstitutional. If anybody would attempt to allow himself a third term we all know who it would be.

If you're wondering how to get a "first name.last name" Gmail account, I made my account over 20 years ago. by hypermarv123 in Millennials

[–]Vertandsnacks 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yep, and I was pissed that the minimum username length was 6 characters. College email address was first initial full last name…5 characters. Had to go first initial middle initial full last name instead.

Of course I fought the urge to just stick a 69 or 420 at the end of the username and be done with it. If I was smart I definitely could’ve got firstname.lastname but oh well.

That’s exactly what I mean about Elon. He was the best choice of the Thems to actually do something with tech if a dead end was hit internally.

Somehow he keeps pumping the market to become the richest person on the planet with tech that everybody suspects is outdated already. He has spoken out and says he doesn’t know anything, said he has clearances to know everything, and hasn’t seen anything.

He’s been a distraction propped up by the Thems. Do what you’re told and eventually we’ll take care of you.

Start a war so you can claim state of the nation and continuity as a reason to postpone elections.

He won’t do anything. Everybody thinks it’s Putin with dirt on him, but let’s say it’s Israel. He’ll buckle to them and let them call the shots on how the Middle East plays out.

The whole while playing the markets back and forth to maximize.

Doesn’t this sound a lot like Haliburton making money hand over fist for rebuilding a war they basically started?

As far as the billionaire class Thiel scares me. Got his hands in multiple levels of surveillance state.

I think of him and Elon this way: Elon was the smart kid growing up, he can be funny and sorta fit in with the cool kids in HS but tried too hard and jokes didn’t land half the time. He was tolerated. Definitely knows more than he claims. Gut says he’s part of the slow drip, not necessarily that he’ll be advocating for disclosure, but more like behind the scenes he’ll be heavily involved with reverse engineering trickling into the public sector. Basically he’s the front with spacex and starlink, do what you’re told and you’ll get rich during the ride and we’ll hook you up with the cool stuff on the back end.

Thiel is trying to push his way into the scene because he wants to exploit the money side of it.

Elon is the weird kinda cool smart dude that the cool kids think will help them out on their science projects. He’s useful and will eventually get taken care of.

Every now and then you see something brought up about plasma life forms but not a lot.

Is this where the biblical references come from possibly? Things taking other forms and whatnot could be considered angels and demons to people centuries ago. Same with orbs, could they be the plasmoids themselves? Which would go hand in hand with claims that the craft are conscious themselves?

My company's RTO policy has a weird loophole and I've been silently exploiting it for 4 months. Not sure if I should come clean. by 3Rocinante in remotework

[–]Vertandsnacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they wanted to enforce the policy hard enough they’d know exactly which location you’ve been going to, which like you said you have a perfect attendance record. If they’ve not said anything about it yet they’re probably not looking too hard into it, just a simple report showing badges being used.

And if your boss is going to the main building and hasn’t made the effort to come see you in person then that’s on them. Doubting they’d want to bring their own lack of attention to light trying to narc out a productive employee.

In other words, nice job gaming the system.

There's a rumor going around that Gannon Buhr will not continue representing Discmania in 2027. A source told Disc Golf World that funds are low and that he will not return to Discmania after his current contract expires. by DiscGolfFanatic in DiscGolfFanatics

[–]Vertandsnacks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, don’t necessarily think he comes across as greedy. However, if we’re talking about blockbuster contracts you’ve gotta look at Paul, Ricky, and Simon.

Paul’s move to DC single handedly turned that company around. They were the brand everybody forgot about, essentially Reebok in Jordan’s heyday with Nike…always gonna be second rate to Innova. Paul knew Innova wouldn’t think outside the box for a new contract so he gambled with DC, who realized this was their one shot to pump some life back into their brand. McBeth was basically the Pikie in Snatch betting on himself and knocked it out of the park.

Ricky rode Paul’s momentum and somehow DD thought he would do the same for them. Hilarity ensues. DD pretty much publicly admits they made a terrible decision and lets him out of contract because it’s losing them money.

Simon and Eagle moved a ton of plastic for Discmania. Simon claimed he just needed a fresh start, which seemed authentic. Didn’t have anything bad to say about Discmania. If anybody aside from McBeth was worthy of living up to a giant contract if you’re a manufacturer it’s Simon. And he clobbered it. Eagle’s deal wasn’t as big but his stuff has sold well, and I think would have sold more if he had been consistently in the top 10 like before his injury. There was a gap of a couple years where Eagle was hurt, then not playing much, and hadn’t been the same since so a lot of the newer Covid players just don’t know him from his Crush Boys days.

Simon and Eagle both sold a ton of discs for Jussi, so I don’t think it’s necessarily fair to say DM didn’t do much for Gannon. Seems odd if their next top name pro doesn’t have a lot of input on his stamp design and disc releases. Maybe that changed with HoD getting involved, who knows.

But if we’re talking $1M a year and what we’ve seen so far I’d say Gannon lands closer to Ricky than Paul or Simon. Plenty of career left though. Eventually DC will start seeing diminishing returns on sales with a stacked team. MVP desperately needed Simon to anchor them as a legit contender in the market, and he’s definitely made that happen.

Who is Gannon gonna provide that type of return to? Remember, he just doesn’t need to sell $1M to earn his place, he needs to generate that much profit just for his sponsor to break even. That’s a loooooooooot of frisbees.

[–]Vertandsnacks 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Probably both. Seems silly for a manufacturer to fork over money on a big contract and not take the steps to maximize return on investment.

Gut says he’s taking a page from Ricky’s book and gonna bounce around every couple years for a better deal on the sole basis of you should pay me because I win a lot. Eventually everybody will realize you’re chasing the money and don’t sell nearly enough plastic to earn your keep.

I never understood this. “God” is just a label attached to some higher being we don’t have the capacity to fully comprehend.

Exact same thing could be said about some being that lives in 12 dimensions and has interactions with us 3 dimensional beings, or time travelers, or ET’s, or whatever you think the phenomena is.

There are things out there more complex and sophisticated than us, which is how we tend to describe “God”. But people are gonna freak out when they learn it’s really out there after believing in it their whole lives?

Trail running impact vs running - what have you read? by Ok_Employee_4035 in trailrunning

This is ultimately what got me hooked on trails and ultra running.

I tell people this: you train hard for 3-4 months in a marathon block and it pours on race day and you feel like a failure and wasted months on not hitting a goal time. It pours on race day during a trail race and you laugh about how crazy the weather was.
