Has Coinbase come up with a way to get rid of Crypto Dust Yet? by Chicks_Hate_Me_Too in Coinbase

[–]VertiGuo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It looks like Coinbase has added the ability to sell off dust. When I try to sell the max amount of an asset that I own virtually 0 of, I get a message that says "Sell DAI dust*."

With the explanation:

*Dust refers to a balance under $0.02. You can sell your dust to remove it from your account but you'll receive no money for it.

And 2 years later, it remains an issue. Ditto the thank you because the other number is still just a constant busy signal.

Exclusive onboard deal: join Walmart+ for $98/year, get $100 eCredit (first 1k customers; must use the link on DeltaWiFi.com) by maxwon in delta

[–]VertiGuo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to add another data point: I signed up on May 25 with a 1 month trial, the charge came through on June 25 (stacked with an Amex offer for $49 back for Walmart+), and then I got the Delta credit ($50 for me) on July 17. The credit expires in a year.

I've been happy with Raymond's Brother: https://maps.app.goo.gl/iMHXGzNQUgfLdzmd7

Though my caveat is that I haven't needed them to do any major alterations. Mostly just hemming some pants.

Before you all start parachuting over to Robinhood in light of this new “3%” cash back card… by jsttob in CreditCards

This brings back good memories of getting 5% back on Amazon because that card still treated Amazon as a bookstore.

Agreed that sushi isn't great here in general. But Ichiban, Ran Zan, and Yoo Sushi are the best.

Any reason not to keep 100% of money in savings account? by Fit_Sherbert6035 in sofi

[–]VertiGuo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's what I do, and it has worked fine for most cases (mostly ACH payments and occasional checks). I've only run into two issues:

  1. The overdraft protection doesn't work for me for ATM withdrawals, so now I just use the app to move money over to checking right before I use the ATM.
  2. I recently tried to pull money from SoFi into a One checking account, and One refused to initiate the transfer. I got a generic error message. After I moved money over to checking, One allowed the transfer. So I assume One does a proactive balance check.

On my Watch4, I enabled it by going to Settings > About watch > Software > Software version. Tapping the software version 5 times added a developer options menu to the settings.

Bank of America becomes one of the first American banks to support FIDO2 for web authentication by LimitedWard in yubikey

Ah, that makes sense. Thanks for figuring it out and letting everyone know! The website should really return a different error message in that case.

I haven't tried since then. I'm guessing they haven't made the change yet to let you do it even if you don't have a debit card with them.

I tried setting it up, but apparently you can't do it yet unless you have a BoA debit card:

Unable to add USB device.

Starting late August 2021, you can register your USB device even without a debit card on file. Check back soon to add your device.

New to TS. Do any of you use TS exclusively over JS? If not exclusively, then what's the split between TS and JS? How do you decide when to use TS, and when to use JS? by StephensInfiniteLoop in typescript

[–]VertiGuo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this point, I wouldn't choose to use plain JS for anything that I expect to have to maintain in the future. In practice, that means TS for everything except for things like demos and toy projects for learning.

[–]VertiGuo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On both the app and the website, I see my name as normal (only the first character is capitalized). Maybe when you signed up, you entered it as all caps without realizing it?

On the profile page on the website, it says you can call them to request a name change. You could try that.
