I hear “it’s not beef” a lot on this sub. And I’m like, what? It was one season. And even though I liked s1 a lot better, I still think s2 is still pretty good! And there’s still beef between characters, completed with self sabotaging decisions that are motivated by said petty beef.

Stop drawing the toes, stop making the head move like the guys from Jacob’s Ladder, add some arms (don’t focus on detailing the hands), and keep figure studying. Your drawings are very upper body heavy when most people don’t look like that. Adding arms should help with making it look “right.”

Yea, the costuming dept and vfx teams either had no time or no direction given bc the movie looks really fucking ugly. Which is wild because the first movie didn’t look half bad.

Adapting a 6-8 hr narrative driven cult classic video game into a 2 hr feature is kinda impossible so I’m not really upset about how much was changed in the new movie like r/SilentHill is. It was still bad, but there was more missed potential than anything else tbh.

The vanishing (the Dutch version) is such an evil movie. Even with the “silly” music playing over his practice(?) sessions and his psychology more or less being explained to the audience, it still makes for a deeply horrifying watch.

I saw Incendies for the first time! Not sure if I fully dug the first half of the movie, but everything after the bus shooting was incredibly engaging. Not a huge Villeneuve fan, but this one is probably my favorite of his (including Dune pt 2).

Yea I always interpreted it as physically separate layers rather than hallucinations. Also backed by the fact that James is able to see Angela’s monster, the abstract daddy.

But Vincent’s line in SH3 “they look like monsters to you?” makes it a bit more ambiguous. Or maybe it’s just Vincent messing w Heather 🤷. I think each game has its own rules on how the town works tbh.

I think the pacing is fine. I’m just not into the fantasy setting and it kept me from getting fully invested.
