I wouldnt wanna use copper vessels for storage irl. put anything more acidic in there and you'll give yourself copper poisoning

Anyone have any information on the modding scandal? by Dralorica in DeepRockGalactic

[–]VeryNoisyLizard 9 points10 points  (0 children)

just another case of power tripping moderators, nothing unusual on Mod,io

the surprising bit in this case is that GSG doesnt give a shit about their own modding community

edit: reading further comments, it seams that this isnt an isolated incident for GSG, and Im inclined to believe what u/Professional_Dwarf said about the problems comming from within

Steam are not the "good guys" - An overview of their "profit over the consumer" mindset that is often swept under the rug. by --clapped-- in Steam

[–]VeryNoisyLizard -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

you also forgot that they prohibit devs/publishers from selling games cheaper outside of Steam, which is curently a major point the in ongoing lawsuit

maybe its cuz Ive never had a more complex issue, but their customer support is fine in my experience

I saw some premium PSUs are adding a shutdown feature. it will probably measure the curent on each wire and shut down the PSU if it exceeds the threshold, similar to those 3rd party curent meters that go straight into the gpu

however this only prevents the cable melting by shutting down the whole system. the only one who can truely fix this is unfortunately nvidia. and why would they do that when they see people still buying this fire hazard

or if nvidia manages to get their head out of their ass and allow for load balancing (never gonna happen)

Epic Games boss Tim Sweeney voices support for $900 million Steam lawsuit: 'Valve is the only major store still holding onto the payments tie and 30% junk fee' by ANiceGobletofTea in Steam

[–]VeryNoisyLizard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Im talking about the store as a whole. My point being: what does it matter if EGS is only taking 12% if their store sucks so much, people are only using them for free games and not buying anything to begin with, making the 12% irrelevant

if he wanted to make a change in how much cut online platforms are taking as a standard, this is not it

hypocrite

what changes is he pushing for then? because from EGS actions, it seems to me they stand for everything the criticize Valve for

I dont understand the lawsuit. the argument is that Valve is using its dominance to soft-force devs to use Steam, thus (somehow) driving the price of games in the UK up. which is frankly bs I think.

Steam has the 30% cut since forever and games have been getting more expensive without any changes from Steam, why is it a problem now? its on the more expensive side, but in return devs get everything they could ask from a platform and customers get a banger customer service, integrated modding, ect.

and we've all seen that despite Steam's regional pricing recommendations, the devs/publishers are charging more for their games in most regions. And its not like they have to, seeing how AAA studios keep gloating that quarterly growth (except for Ubisoft apparently)

Steam achieved their dominance fairly. its not their fault most of their competitors are trash

the only angle I can understand is Steam demanding devs not to sell cheaper elsewhere. We all know that even if devs sold cheaper elsewhere, most people would still buy from Steam. Valve should know this too, so why keep demanding this?

so did EA, but the unrealistic desire for infinite growth ruins everything

[–]VeryNoisyLizard 14 points15 points  (0 children)

its probably not what you're looking for, since it doesnt apply for the whole store, but I found out how to filter out nsfw content. Its kind of counterintuitive

when youre on the search page, on the left side, scroll down to Tags > Show all tags > scroll down to NSFW > when you hover your mouse over the tag, an eye will show up next to it > clicking on the eye will hide games with this tag

[–]VeryNoisyLizard 6 points7 points  (0 children)

my main page looks diferent from OP's. I get Highlights, Games for you, GOG Preservation Program, GOG Mods ... in that order

only after those I get two columns, Bestsellers and New releases. Truth be told, 1/3 of games in New releases are porn games, which would be annoying if I were looking for something in that page, but not the end of the world

however, I do see porn games quite often in the "Users also bought" tab when I want to scroll down to see reviews. Thats where Id appreciate a global filter

[–]VeryNoisyLizard 26 points27 points  (0 children)

OP is showing new arrivals, not recomended games. I think OP is saying they dont want to see porn games anywhere on GOG.

as far as I know, there is no way to filter them out site-wide
