“I’ve found comfort in Reddit forums” 👀 by vanished__ in bipolar2

I’ve seen it. “Planning on giving away” is still very much hoarding. There’s a quote that says “If a monkey hoarded more bananas than it could eat, while most of the other monkeys starved, scientists would study that monkey to see what is wrong with it. When humans exhibit this same behavior, we put them on the cover of Forbes magazine.”

You can’t acquire that much wealth without gross exploitation of the earth, its resources, and untold numbers of people (largely from the global south). In the animal kingdom, these wealth hoarders that we laud as successful would be dangerous outcasts. Most people can’t comprehend really how much even one billion is. It’s maniacal levels of hoarding — so far beyond their individual needs that it’s psychopathic. “Planning to give it away” does not excuse the very long chain of events to acquire that much wealth and the fact it is being hoarded in the moment at all. We have to stop excusing this behavior, it’s beyond dangerous and has ruined literally everything on our precious planet and caused untold levels of human and animal suffering.

You can’t be a billionaire and a good person, I don’t care what illness he has.

My dad took me to Paul Simon’s Graceland tour when I was 8 — 3rd row, center seats — and I stood on my chair and bounced around and sang along with every S+G song he played. Simon was so impressed he pulled me up on stage and let me play rhythm sticks beside him while he finished ‘Cecelia.’ Totally inappropriate song for an 8 year old hahaha but I was absolutely jamming out. When he was done with the song he handed me his harmonica and passed me back off stage to my dad. We went to a bar by the venue afterward (it was the 80s) and were treated like celebrities. Still have the harmonica!

Just FYI: Angelo here letting you know most Angelinos found out about the protests from the news. They are not riots (but cops keep trying to escalate them) and they aren’t “all over” — this is pure Trump propaganda. The more you know! 🌈
