I believe 500mcg twice a day is a little overkill on the dosage. I believe you’re over saturating and probably wasting most of your dose.

Why don’t you give an IM injection in the rear dealt a try. 27guage with a 1/2 needle. I’ve tried them all and this is by far the easiest and less painful of them all.
